If you think speech bans will stop with your enemies, history suggests otherwise. Here's one example: In 1974, the National Union of Students in the United Kingdom adopted a policy banning racist and fascist speakers. The Union of Jewish students supported the policy, thinking it would apply to the... right-wing National Front. A few years later, the Jewish student group watched as some local unions used the policy to ban Zionist speakers on campus. As former ACLU Executive Director Ira Glasser once said, speech restrictions are like poison gas — they may seem like a powerful weapon when the enemy is in your sights and the wind is at your back. Billed as the 'experience of a lifetime', here is a video published by a 'Zionist' school in Brent, London on its pupils trip to Israel. The whole video is below in case it disappears from YouTube. The school, JFS, has been running these trips for 'over 40 years' and it says they promote 'the values and ethos of JFS including the ideals of Zionist Modern Orthodoxy.' The school they visit is based in a city called Hod HaSharon built on land that was taken from the Palestinians by Jewish settlers in the 1920s and 1930s. The school is supported by the Jewish National Fund the Israeli land theft agency and 'national institution'. Amongst the teachers at the school in 'Israel' there are English settler-colonists from London, Sunderland and Bristol. According to one of the teachers in the video: 'They [The visiting students] fall in love with the country'. When they are taught that they have a right to be there, is it any wonder that inculcating racist views are the price and indeed the point of these trips? #DismantleZionism

President Trump "has a right to expect loyalty" by National Security Council staff and "if you hold views that are unacceptable to the president" on issues like the 2020 election, "you don't belong inside the White House complex," former Defense Secretary Robert Gates says. "I think you need to give the president your honest views on things, on the subjects that you're in charge of. And it may be unwelcome to him, but he needs to hear different perspectives," Gates adds. Beyond horrifying: ‘Tulane for #Palestine’, a group not registered with the university but made up of Tulane students, held a pro-#Hamas rally off campus. Jewish and Israeli students, as well as their allies, peacefully held #Israeli flags across the road, and were viciously attacked and beat up by a group of pro-Hamas demonstrators. A pro-Hamas student was going to burn the Israeli flag when a Jewish student decided to take the flag away. As a crowd of Hamas supporting students rushed towards the Jewish student, security in the area went to break it up, but not before a pro-Hamas protester hit a student in the head with a pole, resulting in the hospitalization of the Jewish student. Since the event wasn’t on campus, however, Tulane did not intervene. This is what college students are experiencing on and off campus around the country. Now, more than ever, administrations must stand by their Jewish students.

#GainzDealerTipofTheDay Major Deadlift KEY👇 Sit “BACK” into the hips! ➡️ One of the most common deadlift mistakes I see in a lot of lifters is starting with the hips either too high or too low at the start of the lift. One of my favorite ways to remedy this is to sit back until you feel the load in your glutes. This will create an “anchor” with your hips and from there you call pull your chest up and push with your legs to initiate the lift. If the hips are in the right spot, it will feel like the weight is going to “leverage” itself right off the ground due to the tension felt in the glutes at this time. The hip height on this is going to look different on everyone depending on individual leverages, but the sensation and overall function of the cue will be the same. At the start of a deadlift, we want our hips at the highest they can be with our shoulders in line with the bar. This cue will help to accomplish that! Palestinian-American author Susan Abulhawa was among the lead speakers, alongside writer and activist Mohammed El-Kurd and Israeli-American activist Miko Peled. But after the debate, the Oxford Union edited Abulhawa’s speech—removing key sections critical of Zionism and historical atrocities, despite assurances it would remain unaltered. Now, according to TRT World, the Union’s board of trustees is threatening to shut down the society altogether if Abulhawa’s speech is reinstated in full. The judgment in the case of the University of Sussex vs the Office for Students is deeply disappointing. It not only overturns the OfS fine over failures to uphold free speech in the Kathleen Stock case — it also risks rendering the Higher Education (Freedom of Speech) Act toothless. The consequence? More academics will be left exposed to the kind of vile treatment Kathleen Stock endured. We hope the OfS will challenge this judgement. If they do, the Free Speech Union will seek to intervene. Most alarming has been the triumphalist reaction from some university leaders — many of whom appear to hate the free speech duties under Hefsa. This judgment will be seen by them as a green light to ignore violations with impunity. The toxic culture of cancellation on campus is still alive and kicking. The Education Secretary, Bridget Phillipson, must now stick to her word — and urgently implement the complaints scheme promised under Hefsa. This scheme would give academics and visiting speakers a free route to defend their right to free speech. There can be no more delay.
