If you think this should all stop and everyone should be able to access their bus directly to and from the kerb then write to your MP.

All cyclists need to do is SLOW DOWN so they can avoid collisions. Pedestrians need to be more aware too

Designers maybe aught not design in pedestrian /cyclist conflict at a bus stop.

But why do so many cyclists NOT slow down when they see a person walking into a cycle lane/road? It’s not hard: look ahead, use your brakes, be considerate. Safer for cyclists too.

Most of the problem is the cyclist no regard to the bus stop or even bothering to slow down at the crossing or stop. Enforcement required. Cycle lobby would be saying same if it was a crossing for cars.

@danielmgmoylan One of these appears to be at the end of Westminster Bridge. I regularly cycle through there but have largely stopped using the cycle lane and just go on the road because pedestrians just don’t seem to pay any attention to the cycle lane.

As a driver, I need to anticipate all road hazards including pedestrians walking in my path. The fact that cyclist hit this kid is his fault. The parents should also be teaching the child to look both ways before crossing a road/bike lane.

In Switzerland trams stop a distance from the kerb and cyclists are expected to stop to let people get on and off. The British cycling culture is a bit lunatic to be honest.

It helps if people pay attention to their surroundings. All it takes is to stop & look around to see if there's any bikes/traffic coming down a bike lane or road. Why were these being filmed in the first place. lol

The blind person’s charity filmed three, a passenger’s group one. They were being filmed to demonstrate how problematic they are.

I certainly will. There's a lot of crazy cyclists out there. In my opinion everyone should do their part especially when blind/handicapped people are around.

I was under the impression that cyclists wanted a hierarchy of road users established. Now we have one, they don’t seem to accept the results.

Get them off and make cycling licenses a thing, they think its tour de france at this rate along with being arrogant that they own the roads.

Even good changes do come with transition difficulties but nothing changes if nothing changes. Wheel users can help the transition by slowing the hell down

I get the big issue however as pedestrians we have ourselves to blame except the blind man as no one has used a crossing and it’s not a path to walk down.. the Dutch have it correct and respect the road however we thick London mayor has caused most of these issues

Cyclists must stop for pedestrians...it's not difficult. This is like the worst of Amsterdam cycle culture where pedestrians have to wait even on green before the cyclists are gone. Pedestrians are the most vulnerable..the same argument that cyclists use vis a vis cars.
