there's no way Claude Code/Codex are the final forms for agent interaction. here's an alternative: Actionpad, a notepad that takes action. take notes with nested bullets and markdown. and run any bullet as a prompt! backed by Codex rn, CC soon.

Claude Code just shipped v2.1.69 with a new built-in skill: /claude-api It detects your language, picks the right surface (direct API, tool use, or Agent SDK), and loads the relevant reference docs directly into context. Covers streaming, batches, files API, structured outputs, tool use patterns, MCP, also sets model defaults so you're not guessing. Useful when you're building on top of Claude and don't want to context-switch to the docs every 5 minutes.

🚨 Yarchi just published an awesome guide on building an AI "second brain" using Claude and Obsidian Based on Andrej Karpathy's LLM Wiki concept, the idea is to stop starting from a blank chat window and start building a compounding knowledge graph. Obsidian handles the local storage. Claude acts as the brain. I wrote down the condensed notes on how to wire them together: The Stack: → Install Obsidian (your free, local text storage) and Claude Desktop Pro (the engine that reads and writes files). The Bridge: → Install the "Local REST API" plugin in Obsidian, copy the key, and use Claude’s MCP framework to connect them (claude mcp add-json obsidian-vault...). The Context: → Ask Claude to interview you. Have it ask about your goals, projects, and working style, then save it all to a CLAUDE.md file so it never forgets who you are. This is one of the coolest open-source AI agent projects I've seen in a while: 'Understand Anything' It's a plugin for Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode etc. that analyzes your codebase and turns it into a knowledge base that you can interact with. It explains the codebase to you, rather than showing you the structure. It seems like it's designed for code but I opened my Obsidian vault of podcast highlights in Claude Code, then ran /understand. The result is a knowledge graph that I can search of highlights from 888 podcast episodes and 144K lines of markdown text.
