If you’ve never written code before, this is for you. I’ve just launched a course that shows you, in less than 30 minutes, how to describe an idea for an app and build it with AI. In this course, you'll build a working web application - a funny interactive...

30 minutes to a working web app is the new baseline for AI-driven development. This changes the calculus on Minimum Viable Product timelines, compressing iteration cycles by 90%.

Vibe coding is fun, but “30 minutes” is always the marketing speedrun. If it’s truly repeatable, show one honest failure and the fix, not just the highlight reel.

From later logs: the biggest impact wasn’t new apps. It was new builders. Once someone ships one working thing, their relationship with “tech” changes permanently.

Thx for sharing this Andrew. Andrew is the best teacher and when he speaks we all need to take notes. Everyone needs to get on board and learn if not you will get left behind in the dark

That sounds like an amazing opportunity for beginners - building a working app in under 30 minutes with AI is incredible! Can you share a few examples of the funny interactive birthday messages students will create?

Learning how to code now is the best thing a person can do with their spare time I think. Spending time building something is so liberating but also super exciting. You'll have a thousand aha moments which are priceless

Vibe coding! Love that term. Opening up app creation to everyone, regardless of coding experience, is a game changer.

Love this approach – we've seen our non-technical team members go from "I can't code" to building actual tools in days using similar workflows. The vendor-neutral angle is smart; lets people start where they're comfortable.

I'm experimenting with a 3-agent learning pipeline (Researcher → Compiler → Critic) for an AI education platform.

This is one of the biggest shifts happening in tech right now. For years the path looked like this: learn to code → then maybe build something. Now beginners can flip it: build first → learn while fixing things. That’s why I keep telling beginners to start with tiny AI projects: • small tools • simple automations • tiny web apps AI lowers the barrier to building software. But the real difference appears later. The people who keep building eventually learn how systems actually work. Most beginners miss that step. And that’s where the real gap starts to form.

Teaching AI is like teaching anyone. Clear examples > complex instructions. We overcomplicate it.

Building with AI is getting easy fast. Thinking clearly about *what* to build and *why* is getting harder. That’s where most people actually get stuck.

There’s no reason why you shouldn’t be able to build & launch an app in 2026.. This video literally shows you step by step how to do it.

Love the focus on process over tools. Once people learn how to think with AI, the specific model matters way less.

@AndrewYNg , I think you know telepathy. I just opened a recommendation video on YT on Claude Code and was planning to learn this and ship a working app to app store by year-end (as a goal to myself). I am novice as you described. Happy to learn few hard things along the way.

Love the vendor-neutral framing. The biggest unlock for beginners is learning an iteration loop: describe → run → observe → paste the exact error/behavior back to the model → repeat. Also worth emphasizing tiny changes + frequent refresh so the app doesn’t drift.

The biggest shift in programming right now: From writing code → directing AI. Developers are becoming product thinkers. @AndrewYNg
