Real atoms are complex, containing multiple electrons and energy levels they can jump between. physicists use a theoretical model that an atom that only has two possible states: The Ground State: The lowest resting energy level. The Excited State: A higher, energized level.

Great way to simplify a complex topic. The two-level model makes the core idea much easier to understand before diving into real atomic systems

I’d start with a beginner-friendly intro to quantum mechanics, then build up the math gradually. Don’t jump straight into the heavy stuff - getting the intuition first makes everything click much faster
