I’m convinced both CarMax and the cops are in on the scam because this made no sense. I think CarMax did reach out to her after this but not sure what happened next.

I just watched all her updates, basically CarMax told her the best they could do is make a call to State Farm on her behalf to try to convince them to payout the claim

The amount of money that’s going to cost #Carmax for bad publicity they might as well give her a new car 😂 I know I won’t touch Carnax after watching that.

There’s the @CFPB but that’s specifically about deceptive or fraudulent practices by banks. This type of thing would typically fall under the purview of your state attorney general.

I’ve been following this story and this is WILD. It’s even crazier HOW the insurance company used this to deny the claim. Even though both Carmax and the police are telling them fraud. Among many other things we NEED in this country is insurance reform.

I will never do business with @CarMax or @StateFarm . We work hard for our money! How dare they scam this poor lady out of her money!🤬 I hope some brave National news reporter takes up her story and put them on blast!

To clear things up for people. She did NOT buy the car from Carmax, she purchased it privately. I assumed that person stole it from Carmax. It’s illegal to buy stolen merchandise even if “allegedly” you didn’t know. This is why State Farm denied the claim. No legal rights.
