Back in the 70's the cure was a 2 part approach. 1. Parents would give us something to cry about. 2. Teachers used a ruler across your knuckles and called your parents (refer to rule #1).

Yep, I recall those days. Behavioral problems were few and far between, because after smacking you the teacher would phone your home and tell your parents they smacked you for acting up, so when you got home you got your ass beat because of the embarrassment you caused the family

Went to Catholic grade school. The nuns would take a ruler and whack the back of your hand. Worked.

And when some level of discipline is not imposed early we end up with groups of idiots joining paid protests acting like 5 year old's.

They had a wooden paddle at my high school (and girls were not exempt). After getting paddled, kids couldn't even sit down without crying. Not a single one of us had ADHD though.

I'd say suffering that treatment myself has not only saved my life numerous times but I also suffer from a chronic, incurable ailment called respect. Strange 🤔

LMFAO, of course I had nuns that would literally use rulers on my hands if I couldn't keep quiet, which was often. I also learned very well how to behave...especially with Sister Grace in 5th grade, who once came up behind me and grabbed with both her hands my hair, I stopped.

Ahhhh corporal punishment. The good ol’ days when you actually learned something in school or you got your ass whipped and couldn’t sit down for days…

I don't remember any kid acting like that in school when I was a kid. Because their parents would never have tolerated it. But that was then.
