The 2018 Red Sox were one of the most dominant teams in MLB history. In 2019, Red Sox ownership told the fan base (via the newspaper and radio station they own) that they could only afford two of their three best players. And fans lined up to say, “Yes, I agree with this.”

Then they didn’t even do the thing they said they were gonna do. All this despite the fact that signing them all in 2019 would have cost like $600 mil total. Less than what two of them cost today. I’ll never get over it.

It's amazing how, even years later, some days it just hits you that the Red Sox really traded Mookie Betts. The grief will never be truly gone.

Fenway should have looked like January 6th after they traded him

There’s a weird sub-genre of Red Sox fans who have talked themselves into trading Mookie being the right move. Insane.

Surely they made him a red Sox for life and set the precedent of loyalty to home grown talent? Right?

If he’s here we don’t get Raffy in Jordan’s commercials though and you can’t put a price on those masterpieces
