Wow. I just saw an episode from The Journey featuring Steven Izzo from Michigan State and it was powerful. He is a 5th year walk on and son of coach Tom Izzo. In this clip, he scored his first official basket of his career. Tom had this to say: “He came over and gave me a hug and I told him I loved him. I looked around and I said my kid just made 15,000 people…happy. If I died that day, I’d been ok.”

This UFC fighter is called Themba Gorimbo. His mother died when he was 9 and his father died when he was 13. When he was 16-years-old he traveled to the local fields to illegally dig for Marange diamonds. Even though it was illegal, it was the only work he had and eventually when police found him, they had German shepherds bite him. "If you see my body, l've got dog marks all over my body where I was bitten by the dogs.” "That night probably changed me mentally as a person, changed everything because I got bitten by the dogs and I lost a lot of blood and I almost died. Luckily, I survived and I'm here to tell a story about it." Recently, he won his first fight in the UFC and up until that point he only had $7 in his bank account. All his money was spent on the flight to Vegas. He sleeps on a couch in his gym. After his fight, he sold his fight gear for $7000 and used the money to build a water pump in Zimbabwe.
