100% agree! The Dark Knight Rises is an amazing film despite some of its flaws. Still remember seeing it opening night in IMAX 70mm and that plane sequence is some of the best action Nolan has ever done on film in my opinion.

Preble Jefferson can see 5 seconds into the future. When government agencies become aware of his skill, he'll do whatever it takes to protect his family. “Calling this a thriller is a bit reductive...The most interesting novel I’ve read in a long time.” --JDC

Because instead of being a movie about Batman it's just a movie with Batman in it.

It's a great collection of moments, just not a cohesive movie. Introduces too many new characters to care about (Bane, Selina, Talia) while relying on the lore of the rest of the trilogy to make sense of the plot, which has sizeable holes. Resultingly the pacing is too fast.

Totally agree I loved it and have watched it so many times.

Don’t get the hate, this is a great movie. So many great scenes, great characters, perfect ending to the trilogy.

Please stop calling it “cinema” it’s so pretentious and douchey

I never understood the hate for this movie either. I feel like after the overwhelming critical claim that The Dark Knight received, this was definitely gonna serve as a tough act to follow. Sure it might be the weakest movie of Christopher Nolan’s TDK trilogy it’s still great.

It’s a great movie. Unfortunately has one of the worst death scenes put to a blockbuster film lol

For me, it was the lighting. It was all too light. Gotham needs to be dark. It was like seeing the guys who work inside the ghost train ride all standing outside on a fag break, in their ghost costumes, in high summer. The Dark Knight wasn't in the dark anymore.

Because it attacked socialism. It’s not a valid reason, but that’s why critics panned it.

Are you talking about the seen where Bruce Wayne makes an impossible jump after phaving a broken back with no medical attention, also that nobody has made since a child🤣 did it. The Dark Knight is an awesome action movie and a barely worthy send off to the trilogy. Nothing More

The pit prison is the most ridiculous prison ever conceived. How do they get food, medical care, tv signal, and ropes? Why can’t they just climb up the rope to the top?

We just know The Joker was going to be a huge part of this but Heath Ledger died. The creators had to go another route. Regardless I love this film.

It's cheesy, it jumps drastically from one plot to another. It should have been made into a second movie or altered.

With that Hans Zimmer score, this is a super entertaining film despite its flaws. Better than most of today’s superhero movies.

It's the worst of the three Nolan Batman films by a significant margin. It's a very good movie, but when compared to two classics...

He should have had to run along that ledge before the jump to make the distance. Jumping from a stand still isn’t optimal and his previous failed attempts would have already made that clear. He needed every advantage to make it. Still love what the scene represents though.

I think it’s unbelievably good considering what it was trying to follow - Batman Begins is the still the best origin story comic character on screen, and The Dark Knight was so impactful that studios tried to reproduce its ethos and mood for over a decade.

I understand. It’s a bad screenplay with too many loopholes and fan service that was so poorly done that even Batman fans were disappointed. Only Batman Film fans really enjoy this movie. (I do agree though it has a ton of great scenes that in isolation are amazing)

Stole most of its plot points from The World Is Not Enough, one of the worst Bond films.

I love your post @RealEmirHan This scene is set up in the prior scene, “Climb, as the child did, without the rope, and fear will find you again.” Epic Cinema, Life Affirming on Every Level
