Yesterday, 50 years ago, I was forced to leave everything I had ever known behind. In the dark haze of the morning, my family and I fled as everything around us crumbled. ‘it is.’ was released 10 years ago today. The album to me was meant to talk about what everything is. It just ‘is’. Whether you do it or don’t. So why not do it? “You are a human being, so ‘be’.” Things will continue to change around me as well as within me. All I can do is try to be what I want to be more and more everyday. This a message to my Arab friends and followers who accuse me of being a ”traitor,” a ”sell-out,” who tell me that I am ”a shame to Arabs” and that I should change my name because of my views on Islam and Israel/Palestine. Just because I am an Arab, it does not mean that Jews should become less human to me. Just because my name is Ahmed, it does not mean that I should be celebrating Jewish blood spilled in Israel. Just because I am an Arab, it does not mean I am to support Arabian warfare unconditionally. Just because my name is Ahmed, it does not mean that my mind and tongue are devoted to Mohammed’s 7th-century battlefields and books. Just because I am an Arab, it does not mean that I cannot choose love and peace over hate and bloodshed. Just because my name is Ahmed, it does not mean that my mind should be programmed to think that Jews are crooks and Muslims are saints. I am proud of who I am. But I’m not proud of my culture. I’m not proud of Islam. I am not proud of the Arab world, but that doesn’t mean that I hate them. XD I totally can see a card coming in this preview season that would say something like: "When I receive damage, buff me" or maybe "When I receive 4 or more damage, deal 4 damage to enemy unit on a battlefield". Maybe Olaf? And as for Legends maybe something for Pyke and his bouncing ability. I really hope that it's not all just omega cope hahahah Riftbound is definitely cooking something.

This is it! . 1 year ago today, I walked off the mound for the last time! . It took everything in my power not to cry immediately while leaving the field. My wave to the crowd was to my family. All 15 of them. I wanted them all there to experience it with me. When I looked up in to the crowd, and saw the excitement of my sons, parents, sisters and their husbands, my nieces and nephews…it was everything I could have ever wanted to end my career! . I got to rewrite my storybook finish! . Thank you Port Dover, Team Ontario, Team Canada, University of Notre Dame, Canisius College, Brantford Red Sox and the WMBL for molding me. The Yankees for being the only team to give me a shot in pro ball back in 2007…and promptly releasing me…ha! An enormous amount of thanks and gratitude to the Brewers for giving me a second chance, and the amazing people in that organization that stuck with me and helped launch my career. Milwaukee is always in my heart. Thank you to the wonderful organizations in St. Louis, Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Colorado, and Los Angeles. Every one was an incredible stop along this journey. I will love Oakland and feel at home there forever. And as a Canadian kid, growing up a fan of the Blue Jays, it will always be surreal to me that I got suit up in that uniform and pitch for my hometown team. My love of Major League baseball started in Toronto…and will continue there for the rest of my life! .
