Gambling companies are finding loopholes to entice vulnerable people back onto their platform - even when people have decided they want to stop gambling and self excluded on BetStop. This is what happens when you leave gaps that can be exploited by what is known to be a predatory industry. And it shows what will happen if the Government opts for a partial ban on gambling ads, rather than a full ban. The late Labor MP Peta Murphy and her committee report gave us the blueprint for change, it's time for the government to implement the Murphy Report recommendations in full. If you want to read more, this is from Peta Murphy's Foreword to the committee report: "Online gambling companies advertise so much in Australia because it works. Online gambling has been deliberately and strategically marketed alongside sport, which has normalised it as a fun, harmless, and sociable activity that is part of a favourite pastime. Gambling advertising is grooming children and young people to gamble and encourages riskier behaviour. The torrent of advertising is inescapable. It is manipulating an impressionable and vulnerable audience to gamble online. Australia’s largest professional sporting codes and broadcast media were largely in lockstep with their advertising and sponsorship partners in the gambling industry during this inquiry to oppose further restrictions. The Committee shares the concerns of many witnesses and the community that the status quo is leading to a generation of young Australians who view gambling and sport as inextricably linked. This is concerning, not only because of the potential increase in Australians experiencing gambling harm, but also about changes to the culture of sport. Australia would be diminished if sport was to be so captured by gambling revenue that providing an opportunity for betting came to be seen as its primary purpose. A phased, comprehensive ban on all gambling advertising on all media – broadcast and online, that leaves no room for circumvention, is needed. Partial bans on gambling advertising do not work. The 2017 media reforms resulted in gambling advertising on television increasing. Harmful industries have shown they will identify and capitalise on any gaps in marketing restrictions and that they are taking advantage of the less regulated online environment. The advertising ban should be enforced sequentially, with advertising that has the highest risk of harm to be addressed immediately. To enable sporting bodies and broadcasters adequate time to locate alternative sources of advertising revenue and to comply with current contractual obligations, the Committee recommends that the comprehensive ban be phased in over a three-year period."

Speaking at a consultative meeting in Pasig City, Hontiveros noted that seven senators have filed the measure, while House Speaker Bojie Dy and Majority Leader Sandro Marcos have filed a counterpart bill. She also cited President Marcos’ certification of the measure as urgent. “Malakas ang pag-asa ko ngayon dahil tingin ko for the first time in so many Congresses, malakas ang tsansa natin… If we take this ball and run with it, ngayon kaya na nating ipanalo,” she says. | Eimor Santos

Social media influencer @/voiceofneeshhu, previously spotted at protest of CJP, is actively pushing an illegal online gambling/betting platform via her Instagram stories to over 390k followers. She is Promoting an illegal betting platform (web-in.gogotofly(dot)com / "Come") offering fake promises of "easy money" and "100% cashback" to entice young followers into gambling. The platform uses a interface heavily cloned from apps like Stake, featuring casino games, mines, aviator, and sports betting. She Allegedly accepted ₹1,75,000 for this illegal promotion. Promoting unauthorized offshore betting apps violates Indian cyber laws and guidelines issued by the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting. I urge ED, Delhi Police, and Ministry of Information and Broadcasting to investigate this financial trail and take immediate legal action!

ILLEGAL GAMBLING OPERATION BUSTED In April 2025, Detectives from the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office began investigating a criminal organization suspected of violating California Penal Code 330 (illegal gambling) and 337a(a) (bookmaking). Detectives identified the following suspects involved in an alleged conspiracy to operate numerous illicit casinos throughout Northern California: Theaplus Osborne Dana Green James Frazier Herman Hawkins Thurston Bershell The investigation revealed a hierarchical organization operating eight illegal casinos, managed by Osborne, with multiple co-conspirators handling daily operations. These illicit gambling operations were run out of residential neighborhoods, generating repeated calls for service and ongoing complaints. The locations were linked to violent incidents, assaults, large fights, and firearms-related crimes. Documented incidents associated with these operations included an individual chased while a firearm was brandished, a woman shoved to the ground during a confrontation, and large fights involving guns. This is the type of criminal activity illegal casinos attract into neighborhoods. Detectives determined the organization laundered more than $1.4 million between January 2024 and July 2025. On February 19, 2026, Detectives executed search warrants at nine locations and arrested several suspects. During the operation, Detectives seized 16 illegally possessed firearms, multiple high-capacity magazines, more than $100,000 in bulk cash, approximately 13 gambling machines, and over 60 computers used for illicit online gambling. This enforcement action dismantled a large-scale illegal gambling network operating in our region and impacting residential communities.

I had a stream that got 120,000 views that just got removed from YouTube because it violated community guidelines about gambling. At the 1:26 timestamp, I apparently promoted an online gambling site. I have video evidence of this being false. The time that I allegedly violated rules about gambling is literally a countdown clock with no audio to let people know when the game starts. The appeal was denied within 20 minutes. Now, my channel and my livelihood is in danger of being terminated because YouTube flagged it for violating the "regulated goods policy" where I apparently promoted a site while having a blank static screen with a countdown clock. I have yet to hear a response from TeamYouTube about this, and have yet to speak to a human throughout this entire process. I graduated from the Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law in December 2022. I will pursue any and all legal action. Restore the video, remove the sanctions against my channel, and give me the money that I rightfully earned on stream, or I have no problem going to court.

Sara Duterte requests P10 million budget to print and distribute a self-authored book for children A heated exchange broke out in the Philippine Senate after opposition Senator Risa Hontiveros (Akbayan) asked Vice President Sara Duterte what is the contents of the book for which the Office of the Vice President requested P10 million as part of its campaign to give 1 million school bags to impoverished school children. After Sen. Hontiveros said she will file a motion to have the requested budget of the OVP be instead given to other government agencies as part of streamlining overlapping public services, VP Sara Duterte proceeded to get defensive, accusing Sen. Hontiveros of politicizing the budget and going after her whilst reminded the lady senator that Davao City and the Dutertes helped elect Hontiveros to national office. Sen. Hontiveros replied by saying that only Duterte seems fixated on votes and China during the hearing, ending her statements with the words, "This is public funds and we are making inquiries. Budget hearing po ito. Di po lahat about you. Pera po ito ng taong-bayan"

🚨😭CRYBABY ALERT: TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME LAWYER BRAGS ABOUT TAX EVASION ONLINE A genius corporate lawyer jumped on TikTok to proudly announce she’s refusing to pay her federal taxes. Her reason? She claims the money funds immigration enforcement and the “military industrial complex,” which she assures you are “concentration camps.” So instead of paying the IRS, she says she’s parking the $8,800 she owes in a savings account while documenting the rebellion online like it’s a lifestyle vlog. She even suggested that working for a law firm that served Trump was so unacceptable that she had to transition to earning a living with "some contracts." Yes, apparently the bold anti-authoritarian career move was quitting corporate law to prove feminist theories about “sex work empowerment” correct. Trump Derangement Syndrome now comes with tax fraud tutorials. Pass the popcorn and the IRS audit notice. Cheers to Tears of the Left!

When she assumed office in 2016, her team thought ignoring false narratives was enough — that people wouldn’t believe them. It wasn’t until 2019 that they actively addressed online misinformation. Take Vice President Sara Duterte out of the cabinet now! I cannot believe that someone who is a part of the administration’s cabinet would release such a statement. The Vice President once again proves that she is actually part of the opposition. To make matters worse… in a passive aggressive tone, she enumerated issues already being addressed by the Marcos Administration. She deliberately is misinforming the public about the true state of the nation. Let me reiterate my call, Mr. President. I sincerely think that it is time to take Vice President Sara Duterte out of your cabinet now! Inflation, energy and water crisis, criminality, insurgency, drugs… conveniently, she left out one of our major issues. As far as local and international data/ standards are concerned, the Philippines have a lot of issues in the education sector and the DepEd Secretary is not doing a good job! Let me correct the misinformation by no other than the Vice President of the Philippines: 1. Rising of prices/ Cost of Living The Marcos Administration was able to keep the inflation rate of the country within its target bond despite the “historically strong” El Nino weather phenomenon and other relevant global concerns. Madam Vice President, you might as well read REIN or the Reduce Emerging Inflation Now -the comprehensive plan of the government to address the inflation. There is a noted increase in rice production as well! Addressing the rice inflation as the main contributor to our inflation rate! 2. Energy Crisis Just recently, in the ceremonial energization of Cebu-Negros-Panay 20-kilovot Back Project 3 in Bacolod City. I have learned one thing from the statement of President Marcos: “Marami sa program ng NGCP natulog ng matagal!” So, I guess we should blame the former president for this instead! Aside from holding NGCP accountable on their end of the bargain, the Marcos Administration also secured deals in terms of energy security. I would gladly enumerate these for the Vice President if needed. 3. Criminality It is not surprising that the Vice President does not really look at data and numbers of the PNP. I have no idea where she gets the idea that criminality has worsened! Maybe an assumption? Or personal excerpts that do not show the bigger picture. The President in a recent event proudly cited data as a testament on how the police force was able to bring down the crime index in our country. 2017: 295,385 2022: 207,143 2023: 198,617 (First full year of the Marcos Presidency) 4. Drugs What is the Vice President saying? As far data shows: a. The Marcos Administration successfully confiscated Php 10.4 Billion worth of illegal drugs in 2023 b. Recent data shows that 27, 968 baranggays are drug-cleared! c. 50 provinces, 1,160 municipalities are actively implementing Anti-Drug Abuse Councils (ADACs) d. Construction of 74 in-patient treatment and rehabilitation facilities … amongst other things! Can the supporters of the Vice President advise her to read reports and news articles? Reading helps expand our brain so we can understand!

What stood out to me here is how certain Dyan Cannon sounds. After being single for 15 years, she says meeting the right person felt like “coming home.” In this 1985 conversation with Johnny Carson, Dyan opens up about her recent marriage and explains how she knew her husband was the one after just their second meeting. Of course, Johnny being Johnny, he couldn't resist turning the conversation into a little playful banter. I think that's what makes this interview work. Beneath all the jokes, there’s a surprisingly honest moment about relationships sometimes people spend years looking for certainty, while others simply feel it when the right connection comes along. Do you think you can genuinely know someone is “the one” that quickly ?
