Illinois may drop to 3-seed line after losing to Wisconsin in the Big Ten Tournament. "I still believe this team has the ability to the deepest of runs. We've proven... we have so many losses by single possessions to against great teams." Illinois is 24-1 when they allowed 82 points or less. They're 0-7 when they allow 83 points or more.

Danny Hurley and his staff are amazing. But his predecessor, Jim Calhoun, is the most underrated college coach in history. When Calhoun took over at UConn, he didn't have the luxuries of Bobby Knight, Dean Smith and Coach K (recruiting to an elite academic program or a storied franchise). Yet he still managed to create a coaching legacy of a similar magnitude. "You can only be good at two or three things. You can't be good at everything." "When you walk into someone else's practice, you should be able to figure out what is important to the coach and the team in the first 15 minutes.” Attention to detail and emphasis, particularly on rebounding, were part of coach Calhoun's pillars. Brad Underwood had nothing but great things to say about Mihailo Petrovic, both in his opening statement and in follow up questions from myself and Brad Sturdy. 2+ minutes of the #Illini HC hyping up the Serbian point guard: "We don't win the game without him. He changed the whole outlook of the game. Excellent. That young man spends all day in the game... He's been the ultimate teammate." Petrovic has only played in 10 games this year, averaging just 7.9 minutes per game - but he was a big boost off the bench in Illinois' win vs Minnesota.

"When is enough enough? Enough is enough. You do this in two weeks you go home." Brad Underwood was understandably frustrated after his team's third Big Ten overtime loss in a five game span. "We're right there. We're as good as anybody in the country. I'm pissed off we didn't get a frickin defensive rebound. That's the toughness stuff that you have to have to win. We lose a game like this because we don't get a damn defensive rebound. We're plenty good enough. He says yes, specifically in a desire to guard and take care of the ball -- but the live ball turnovers still drive him nuts: "Punt it 22 rows up if you want to turn it over, just don't have live ball turnovers."
