🚨Rodri on why he turned down Real Madrid for Barcelona: Interviewer 🗣️: “Rodri, you had the opportunity to join Real Madrid, but ultimately chose Barcelona. Why?” Rodri 🗣️: “After the World Cup final against Argentina, Messi and I had a conversation. I told him that Real Madrid had made me an offer and that I was seriously considering it. He looked at me and said, ‘Rodri, I would love to see you at Barcelona. It still hurts me that I never fulfilled my promise of winning another Champions League for this club. Maybe you can be the one to do it.’ That stayed with me. Coming from Messi, I couldn’t just forget those words.” “I also thought about the Spanish national team. So many of the players I have shared the biggest moments of my career with are Barcelona players. I knew that if I went there, I wouldn’t feel like I was walking into a completely new family. I would be surrounded by people I already knew, people who understood how I play and what I expect from football. And then there was Messi’s request. I have enormous respect for Real Madrid, but when Messi speaks to me like that, I listen.” “Real Madrid will always be Real Madrid. Turning them down wasn’t easy, and it wasn’t because I didn’t respect their project. It was simply that Barcelona gave me something more personal. Messi asked me to finish a story he couldn’t finish himself. Maybe one day, if I lift the Champions League with Barcelona, I’ll look back at that conversation after the World Cup final and understand why I made that decision.”

Nick Offerman said people still call him Ron Swanson, and some are so intimidated they approach him shaking and scared. Nick Offerman: And you’re just like, “You guys, that was a long time…” Amy Poehler: That was a long, you know, my son just turned 17, which is when we started the show. Seventeen years ago. Nick Offerman: Holy cow. Amy Poehler: And, I know, think about that. Nick Offerman: (laughs) Amy Poehler: And, the fact that there’s still, people are still dressing up for Ron Swanson at Halloween. And people said that you got us through the pandemic, and people are saying, “My kid’s just starting it,” and like it’s unbe— I don’t, I mean, I know we knew, I gotta say, and, I, I think I can speak for us both, we were old enough, and, I don’t know, maybe a little, like we knew what we had at the time, you and me. We really did. Nick Offerman: For sure. Amy Poehler: And we tried to enjoy every minute of it, but like, Ron Swanson is, would be in the ma— is in the Hall of Fame of characters. I mean, he is, he is this person that people feel con— what is it like, almost 20 years later, interacting with that kind of work? Like, how do people interact with you? Nick Offerman: It’s interesting. I mean, mostly, first of all, I’m so stupidly grateful, like from star— soup to nuts. And also, people are so nice to me and respectful, I think of Ron, like, people approach me with a deference… Amy Poehler: (laughs) Nick Offerman: …and also a little fear. Amy Poehler: Yeah. Nick Offerman: Um, but they’re, they are really polite to me where I, I usually have to say, “Please call me Nick,” or, you know, because they’re shaking and they’re scared.

🚨Marcus Rashford on why he chose to stay at Manchester United after his spell at Barcelona. 🎙️ Reporter: Marcus, after such a successful spell at Barcelona last season, what convinced you to stay at Manchester United? 🗣️ Marcus Rashford: “Michael Carrick is a very talented manager. When I came back from Barcelona after the World Cup, he gave me a call. We spoke for a long time, and he reminded me of my journey at Manchester United—when he was a player, when he later coached me, and what this club has meant to my career. “He told me every footballer goes through obstacles and difficult moments, but those moments should never make you forget where you truly belong. He said he had setbacks in his own career too, but he never stopped believing in Manchester United. Then he told me, ‘Marcus, I know how much you love this club. I don’t want you to come back because of your past—I want you to stay because I believe you can be a huge part of our future.’ “To be honest, I can’t remember the last time a manager spoke to me like that. It wasn’t about money or guarantees. It was about trust, belief and responsibility. Listening to him reminded me so much of Sir Alex Ferguson and showed me why Sir Alex trusted him as one of the leaders in that dressing room. “Barcelona was a fantastic experience and I’ll always be grateful for my time there, but after that conversation I knew my story at Manchester United wasn’t finished. I still have unfinished business here, and I want to help bring this club back to where it belongs.”

EWB EIGHTH EP #EnemiesWithBenefitsEP8 #JanJingjing 🦊: how could you not feel sorry for lal? honestly, when i watched this ep aired right? i didn’t dare to watch that scene… both the drama scenes yesterday, because it’s sad! i can still remember the feelings when i filmed it. it was so sad. i didn’t want to watch it. if i watch it, i’ll cry. i still don’t want to watch it because i remember every feeling 🎤: (you’ve acted drama scenes before. this is that impactful?) 🦊: it might be that… the thing i felt the saddest about yesterday’s scene is that i don’t like the situation where we get broken up without knowing the reason. for yesterday’s scene, it was like meeting up to have dinner out of nowhere. i was very happy and thought, “wow! it seems like there’ll be good new!” i mentally prepared myself for the good news, then boom! 🐯: her voice is trembling 🦊: not wanting to be fwb anymore. and that scene was a scene i couldn’t come out of it. i couldn’t come out of it for half an hour before i could continue filming, because it was very heavy 🐯: the drama scene at the end of ep8 was a scene where, after we finished filming, p’jan was… i was sittig like this, right? p’jan had her face buried behind me for almost half an hour? 🦊: it was very long! 🐯: very long. she just kept crying. p’jan couldn’t get out of that scene. but for that scene, we had to maintain the emotion and filmed for a long time too. we stayed in that emotion for a long time, so it had an effect too 🦊: mommy~

ANTARES RAISES $470M SERIES C Three and a half years ago, I sat down in the Blue Bottle on Fillmore St. I thought I was catching up with a friend to talk about fatherhood. We'd both just become dads. It prompted a deep question for me: how do you be a great dad while also being great at what you do? History is littered with examples of great men who leave a strew of destroyed relationships and children in their wake. I'd written on my Substack about what I thought it may take to try to leave a different legacy. It resonated with a friend so he reached out to catch up. That person was Jordan Bramble. Becoming a father had changed him in a deep way and he knew he wanted to build something deeply impactful, something that would change the trajectory of human civilization, but more importantly, something his son would be proud of. He wanted to build nuclear reactors. Coincidentally, I'd spent the previous year reading about nuclear energy and our lost Atomic Age. The consensus then was that we'd never build nuclear again in America. But Jordan thought differently. As we jammed on the idea in the Blue Bottle, a possibility emerged. We could go to market through the government partners who needed Strategic Energy, the kind only nuclear can provide. We couldn't have foresaw the change in public sentiment, the executive orders after Trump was elected, or any of the other amazing tailwinds that have popped up since then. But we did see a small, critical path of possibility. So we decided to partner up: first investor, inception round, no deck, nothing but a Google Doc that was put together after that meeting. Sitting here a few years later, it's amazing to see all that the company has accomplished and the new Golden Age of Energy that has been unleashed. Criticality today, deployed electricity tomorrow. Today, Antares announces a $470m Series C led by Paradigm and Caffeinated Capital. It's been a wild ride, but there's so much more to go. What makes me happiest is that when we caught up again recently in Idaho when the Secretary of Energy was visiting INL, we talked for a long time about our kids and families. It's hard, no doubt, but we're both still trying to be the best husbands, fathers, and men we can be. We have a lot more work to do, but today is a good day. Abundant Energy from Earth to the Asteroid Belt. Ad astra. LET'S GOOOOOO

5 years ago today, life as I knew it vanished: a cascade of symptoms I couldn’t name, days that blurred into months. A body that betrayed me. Hope that turned into confusion. I was a wife, a mom and I believed in the promise of science. I rolled up my sleeve and got my shot not because I thought I was invincible, but because I believed in contributing to something bigger than myself. If I could, I would never wish this on anyone. 2025 has been the hardest year yet. Promises made. Yet the door to healing never opened. Month after month, I find myself asking: Was all of this for nothing? Has it all been in vain? Then last weekend, kindly invited me to the 5th Annual Brownstone Event. What I expected to be a simple gathering of like-minded people turned into something unexpected. Jay Bhattacharya and closed out the event reminding us of the beautiful community in which we now find ourselves, forged through the last 5 years. Reminding us of the priceless wisdom we have gained and the importance of continuing to make sure these injustices never happen again. Finally after a closing prayer by Fr. John Naugle, the entire room fell silent, literally left speechless, moved and changed. Grief and uncertainty, was replaced with purpose, resolve, and love of country and our fellow humans. Both of these men reminded me that this is anything but senseless. Even in the wreckage, there is purpose. Our suffering bears witness to truth, to courage, and to the power of human spirit. That hollow space that’s grown in me this past year, created by disappointment and uncertainty, filled again. Not with answers, but with a renewed sense of meaning. A reminder that light still exists, and that what we’ve endured can still serve something greater than ourselves. I still don’t have the answers. But I’ve learned that meaning doesn’t come after the pain, it’s something we create through it. Every act of kindness, every conversation, the community we build, that’s how we fight back. 5 years later here I am. Still breathing. Still fighting. Still striving to turn this brutal chapter into change. To everyone walking (and rolling) this road with me: I see you. I’m proud of you. And I’ll keep fighting with you. Here’s to meaning. Here’s to hope: exactly how fragile, exactly how stubborn, and exactly how alive it needs to be.

I genuinely cannot understand the silence from FC Barcelona. No post at all. Lionel Messi has just said goodbye to the Argentina national team, one of the most emotional moments of his career, and somehow the club he gave practically his entire life to has nothing to say? Nothing? Bayern Munich posted about Messi. The NBA posted about Messi. Clubs, athletes and organizations from completely different sports and different parts of the world have acknowledged this moment. But FC Barcelona, HIS club, remains silent. It is embarrassing, disrespectful and honestly heartbreaking. We are talking about someone who arrived in Barcelona as a child and grew up wearing this badge. Barcelona was never simply one of the clubs Messi played for. This was his home. This was where he became a man, where he built his family, where his children grew up, and where he spent the biggest part of his life. He gave Barça everything. He gave us memories that will stay with us forever, some of the happiest nights of our lives, and moments that defined an entire generation of Barcelona supporters. And even after being forced to leave the club in tears when he never wanted to go, his love for Barcelona never disappeared. Whenever Messi speaks about Barça, you can still feel it. He still talks about Barcelona as home, still speaks about the club with affection, and his family still has a deep connection with the city. Barça fans certainly never stopped loving him either. That is why this silence is so infuriating. We are talking about someone who gave more than two decades of his life to this institution and became one of the biggest symbols Barcelona has ever had. The absolute minimum on a day like this was to acknowledge him, show him some respect and affection, and recognize what this moment means to millions of culés around the world. If Bayern Munich can recognize the importance of this moment, if the freaking NBA can recognize the importance of this moment, how can FC BARCELONA not? There are moments when football should be bigger than politics, presidents, boards or whatever personal issues may exist behind closed doors. This is one of those moments. Messi’s love for Barça never disappeared, and the supporters know that better than anyone. Nothing can erase the little boy who arrived from Rosario, the teenager who grew up at La Masia, the years of joy, the magical nights, the celebrations, the tears, the impossible moments and everything he made us feel while wearing this shirt. For an entire generation, Messi is part of what Barcelona means to us. Some of us grew up with him, some discovered football because of him, some fell in love with Barça because of him, and some watched him with their parents, siblings and friends, building memories around those nights that will stay with them forever. That connection is bigger than any president, any board and any personal issue. So seeing organizations with absolutely no connection to Messi acknowledging this emotional chapter of his life while his own football home says nothing is absolutely disgraceful. He does not deserve this silence. Not after everything he gave this club, not after how deeply he loved this club, and not after everything he still means to millions of culés around the world. Lionel Messi will always be part of Barcelona. He will always be one of us. The people running FC Barcelona should be ashamed that on a day like this, everyone else seems to understand what Messi means except the club that should understand it more than anyone. Messi deserved far, far better than this disgraceful silence. 💔
