I was waiting for it to go from tbsp to tsp. 😳

Same

Me! I am like ok. baking powder. Ok. Did it say baking soda? No baking powder. Ok.

Saaame

Baking with ADHD

It’s a real thing

1000%. Not just baking either. I can read instructions 7000 times and then do it and immediately realize I somehow overlooked a step or did the wrong thing. It's infuriating. 😭

me but it’s always the tablespoon vs teaspoon and i’m like d*mn. i thought it said this and i read it OVER A MILLION TIMES

Both for me!

Meeeeee it's so annoying 😩 can't tell if it's my OCD or ADHD lol

I think it’s my both

I just throw away the instructions and get them out of the garbage 42 times 🤦♀️

😆

I’ve taken the flour back OUT of the mixing bowl so I can remeasure it. Just to be sure. 😂

Oh mannn yes. Now I know why they have all the stuff in the cute bowls separate

ADHDers and I didn’t have to watch this whole video to know 😂 when we do the final look at the recipe after it’s already in the pot, all of a sudden it’s a different measurement 😭😭😭😭

Why is it so true?!

As someone whose eyes plsy tricks on, I do this every second😂. Was expecting it to change to tsp in the video too

Same

I never knew others were like me!

There’s a whole flock of us!!

@Oh_Katie_Babie Might be a pod

I mean, isn’t that how everyone does it?

Some of us live on the edge and we glance at it once then just go from memory, like jumping off a cliff wondering if we triple checked our parachutes

@isik5 Okay, little miss 2 tablespoons of salt instead of baking powder. 🤣

@isik5 Hehehehe

Baking powder vs. baking soda is critical. Never hurts to check!! 🤣🤣

Omgosh I put soda in place of once in pancakes and it was Not Good

@sabrafan76623 My mom did it with cornbread twice during my childhood 😬😂

@sabrafan76623 Blehhh

I definitely do this 😂 what's funnier is I didn't know until recently that there was a difference between baking soda and baking powder and my tortillas came out like crap despite all my cautious measurements

Oooooh boy yes. You use baking soda to make baking powder

I feel attacked.

If the shoe fits, Gabe

😂😉

I pronounce that as tabispa out loud when I’m cooking

😂

Man listen

😂

We are all one. I just had a very Pluribus moment.🤣

🫂

Oh my gosh I’m crying laughing !!! I do that every single time!!!! I thought I was the only one !! I even do it at the grocery market when I have a list!!!!

Man. Same.

Me when I made these cookies and was trying to figure out if I need a half cup or a full cup of oil. I did later reduce to 1/3 cup when I made them a second time.

Tell me you didn’t put in a full cup 😬

NOOOOO lol!! I originally put a 1/2 cup. Cookies were still very good but a little too soft for my liking I like a bit of a chew

Are those a red velvet?

Yesss with a cream cheese filling that I made as well

That sounds great! I’d love to try making one that’s a carrot cake instead? 🤔 this gives me an idea. Do you still have that recipe? Maybe I can come up with one on my own

I won’t lie I am a bit of a cheater on this recipe bc I just wanted to make something quick bc my family requested a sweet treat very last minute so I used a box cake mix and omitted the water. But I used 2 eggs and a 1/3 cup of oil which made for very moist yet chewy cookies

That’s ok! Yeah I was thinking a cake recipe kinda

I do that and think “I did good this time” only to remember after that I actually split the recipe in half 😂😂😂

Ohhhhhhhh me too!!! Gosh.

Whenever we’re adding yeast in to make the whisky we do this for about 3 hours.

Oh my 😂

Why is it like this??

We have sooo many things to think about already!

I don’t realize the mistake until after the baking and I’m picking my brain why it looks the way it does and where I went wrong 😑

I did my kid’s bday cake this way the other day! In the shower I’m like.. did I put in baking soda? I don’t remember the baking soda 🤔 NOPE. FLAT CAKE

@ChopGoddess One suggestion: put ingredients on the counter and get small cups and measure each ingredient, placing each cup in front of the ingredient container, then add according to recipe directions. That way you know you have all the ingredients measured to put in your mixing bowl.

@WonderWomaNinja This is actually a great idea and I have no clue why I didn’t do this after years of mixing up baking soda and baking powder. This is the first time I even admitted it publicly 😂 I think the post made it easier to admit

@FarmDgh83962 You’re taking the first steps toward recovery

@FarmDgh83962 😂😂😂 knowing me I’m still going to mess up and slip the wrong in there, I’ve accepted my malfunction 😭😂😂

@FarmDgh83962 🫂 😆

This is why NO ONE is allowed in my kitchen when I cook! I need my concentration, lol 🤣🤣🤣

It’s a mood!!

me, I'm that person 🤣

Heehhe

People who are underslept. Me, sometimes

Omgosh!! allllll the time! 💀🤣

This is so real

Hehehhe

😆 This is why I started to put every ingredient in its own cup/bowl rather the large dry mixing bowl🤦♀️

It’s a good idea. Holy smokes I forget I added stuff already sometimes

@MaeOfFable I keep everything on the left side of the counter then move it to the right side after I add it so I don't add twice/forget stuff. 🤣

@MaeOfFable SMMMMART

Lol. EVERYBODY

You got me rethinking my whole damn day. Thanks friend 🤣🤣

I do! I think it’s an ADHD trait. Drive myself crazy.

I think so!

100% I sometimes inner voice yell at myself, "Just remember it, idiot." Then check it 4 more times.

Don’t abuse yourself
