i'm adding only one immersive sim element to svhs: dry eyes from prolonged contact lens use. canonically, the player has had them in for too long, so you must manually blink every 3 to 5 seconds or your vision will go blurry. this feature cannot be disabled

important update:

also prolonged playtime will result in protein buildup on the lenses that cause photosensitivity effects, unless you scour the warehouse to find where you left that tiny bottle of overpriced pharm-grade eye drops (protip: they're at home, the cat pushed them behind the toilet)

🧢 removing my hat because we have a contact lens veteran in the chat. you speak an eternal truth. also minigame where you have to flip the lens back and forth to make sure it’s not inside out

oh you think “imsim” means crawling through vents and pushing blocks? do you do that a lot in your day to day life? a real imsim gives you tiny points of damage to your foot until you take off your sock to check at which point you see absolutely no source of damage

This reminds me of that Alone in the Dark reboot where the first like 30 or so minutes of the game literally has this mechanic (might be shorter or longer it’s been a while). That was a bizarre game
