I'm afraid our concerns were correct—we've got cold air problems. Plenty of moisture, but we're lacking that cold, cold air needed from the north. Temps are slowly falling, so we'll see if we can get there before the moisture leaves, but I'll be honest—it's not looking good.

Also if winter weather is what you want to see...watch out as early as THIS Sunday in our region. All depends on if moisture makes it in early enough in the morning...but if it does, cold air is entrenched enough that it may briefly start as snow/mix before going over to rain!

he’s so real 🐈‍⬛ there are photos you can only get when it’s snowing or when it’s this cold so i always try to get photos like that but to be honest, i don’t go out much in the winter bc it’s cold… and in the summer bc it’s hot! spring & fall are the best

🚨Look at our suffering… look as well, and watch the video. We are living through a heartbreaking tragedy. Heavy rains have flooded our tents, and the freezing cold is consuming the bodies of our children, women, and men. We are doing everything we can to dig water channels to stop the floods from entering our tents, but our efforts are not enough, and this winter is harsher than ever. We urgently need £800 to purchase plastic coverings and repair the damaged tents so we can protect our families from drowning and the bitter cold. ⚠️ I’m not liking the way this Winter Storm is trending for our Texas brotheren.... One aspect that isn’t being talked about enough is the combination of significant Ice Accumulations followed by days of Brutal Cold. If Texas were to receive even a fraction of the ice currently being shown, widespread power outages would become a real concern. With frigid air rushing in behind the storm, temperatures could remain at or below freezing for days, making recovery much harder. This will not be as cold as the deadly Winter Storm of 2021, but the dangerous combination of ice and prolonged cold will still be there. 🌡️ Some areas could see temperatures 30 to 40 degrees below average after the storm, which would compound impacts if outages occur. I’m not saying panic, my Texas brotheren, but this is a situation worth paying attention to and preparing for if current trends hold. 👀 I’ll be watching this LIKE A HAWK 🦅

GFS still maintaining a winter storm icy scenario. Despite the EURO northern turn GFS hasn’t really changed. NWSAtlanta in their briefing this afternoon said models really struggle with the Arctic systems and overrunning. They stated that even 24 hours out it is difficult to predict precip types and locations. Throw in the Cold Air Damming we get in N Georgia and that makes it even harder to predict. We still have a Winter Storm Watch out for the entire Tristate area I cover and that watch could even be expanded southward NWS is saying. The hurricane hunters are doing sampling missions for NWS and that data will be entered into the models. Any additional support we can get will help. The upper air soundings just aren’t as good over western Canada and some parts of the USA. Therefore model initialization happens at different starting points for each set. Hopefully get some kind of agreement that zeroes in better. I would like to see a warmer solution especially if ice is the main problem. We have lots of cold air coming after the storm and anything that is on the ground or roads will not go away fast. Very COLD air is coming. #gawx

No, your eyes are not deceiving you! Next week's cold blast is going to be “near” historic in #Florida for early November. The models are very aggressive and if they are right we may tie or break records set ~100 years ago. These are wind chills for Tuesday morning BUT it is not out of the question that North FL will see actual low temps near freezing next Tuesday and Wednesday mornings. Fire up the fireplaces! You don't have one? You have a week to get it :)

This is Tehran. Today, right around 10:15 AM. I want the world to hear this: life is flowing here. We are actually doing fine. For years, this occupying regime has choked our city in a permanent, toxic smog. We never get to see a blue sky. But look up today. The air is beautifully clear. The only darkness in the sky is the black pillar of smoke rising exactly where they struck the regime's oil depot. The poison is finally burning. The politicians and pundits in the West are terrified of escalation. They are begging for peace. But walking these streets, seeing the iron of our cage melting before our eyes, we are not afraid of the fire. We only have one true, suffocating fear: we are terrified that the strikes will stop before the rescue mission is finished. We are afraid of this regime's survival. And more than anything, we are afraid of losing our one real chance to end them for good.

If you like cold and snow in the East, the pattern the next 2 weeks is text book! Watch as a Giant Greenland Block intensifies and retrogrades across the Canadian Tundra through the period, forcing cold air deep south and trapping it in the Eastern US. This pattern may even have potential for Southern ❄️ ! We’ll see. For the layman, (relative) warm blocking in the Arctic “displaces” the tropospheric Polar Vortex, forcing cold southward into the US. For the weather nerds out there, the high latitude block reaches 4.5 Standard Deviations / Sigma from the mean next weekend on the European model. Easily a record. It may not verify, but if it’s even in the ballpark, it’s on like Donkey Kong! Buckle up!!

The moisture question always comes up when I post pics of my indoor pools on my new builds. Step by step below on how I control it. We create a room where moisture can’t escape into other areas of the home while also having a mechanical system in place to pull the moisture out of the air so mildew/mold don’t ever develop in the pool room itself. In the STR space, investors are trying to stand out. Pools rent. Indoor pools rent even better. You can swim in the winter or summer. 1) Pool is always built on lowest floor inside (generally basement structure) 2) Concrete block wall for basement with very little wood frame 3) Densglass (kind of like a moisture resistant drywall) attached to concrete block 4) Special stucco just like you see on exterior of homes sprayed onto Densglass. The stucco is dyed to color of my choice. 5) Industrial grade dehumidifier (I use Santa Fe or Watchdog Brand). The humidity pulled from air is pumped back into the pool system near the mechanical room or outside. 6) Mini split for the pool room. Main floor HVAC covers the sleeping rooms, bathroom of basement and is always separated from pool room. You don’t want chlorinated air running through a main HVAC system. I look at having to replace the minisplit & dehumidifier about every 4 to 5 yrs because of the chlorinated air that goes through them. 7) Exhaust Fan leading to exterior which also pulls humid air out of the room as a supplemental support for the dehumidifier. When overhead lights are turned on, we have it so the exhaust fan kicks on as well. That’s it. We create a “bubble”, where no moisture gets into the other areas of home and the humid air gets pulled from the pool room.

It's cool that the movies are actually getting better as they go on, but I'm still so sad that they dropped the unique look of the teaser animation that was more 2D heavy. It looked so good and what we got instead just did not live up
