And they’re demanding one key reform: Get money out of politics. “If you don’t end the bribery, we’re permanently screwed.” They’re calling for a “hostile takeover—without violence.” “We want our own sovereignty.” “We want our own freedom.” “We don’t want to be Israel’s slaves.” For decades, small third parties have tried to take on the Democrats and Republicans, but they’ve failed for two main reasons: First, they try to change everything from the top down with a presidential campaign, instead of building a grassroots movement. Second, they’re radically ideological, like libertarian or socialist—not unifying. But there’s finally a new party that I think can build the movement we need. The We The People Party was launched in 2024. And they’re building a movement from the ground up. “To beat the machine we must build a machine.” ••••••••••••••••••• Hi Guys Just in Canberra this morning about to head off to Wagga where we have close to 100 coming to our branch meeting tonight. Next week, estimates will take place in Canberra. I won’t be there for the first time in six years, but to be honest I think it’s much more productive to be out in the community building an active grassroots political party that will hopefully one day take on the majors. If estimates taught me anything it’s that it’s nothing but a stonewalling process. Instead of transparency we get lies and distractions from the very people that should be accountable and transparent to the people. To change this we need to build a machine that can beat the machine. That’s why I’m on the road, spreading the message about the importance of building an active grassroots political party. If we want bureaucrats to start telling the truth in estimates we need to start building a team of like minded people in politics. But over 19,000 young people in NI are not in work, education or training. Futures put on hold, lives not fully lived. But we need to skill up our young people- we need to address the skills gap- it's holding us all back. That's why Alliance is putting it on the agenda at Stormont next week.

Some people need to look in the mirror and say, hey, I have got to stop this or stop my colleagues from doing this, because it makes it much worse. We need to bring the tone down, and we also need to stand up when people do bad things.”
