Begging for stars instead of writing better? White mediocrity. Especially when there was an author who JUST got caught doing racially targeted review bombings, and authors of color (who are actually good) getting barred from awards for speaking up about racism/genocide.

meanwhile 2 stars on Goodreads = "It was okay" 3 stars = "I liked it"

Making and sharing art means being okay with opening it up to critique. Not everyone is gonna love your art , and that’s okay. Some authors gotten toughen up a little … they don’t think the most famous authors in the world haven’t gotten their fair share of 1 stars??

Readers don't owe authors good ratings if the book is bad
