This happened at Cooperstown Dreams Park in Hartwick, New York. Hundreds of kids/players shouting “Let us play!” were protesting because their tournament games and experience were cancelled. Get this, they do not offer refunds for games that cannot be played. 😳 Cooperstown Dreams Park prides itself in getting all the games played and they do brag about playing rain or shine. In their opening speech they say they will play rain or shine even if games are in the wee hours of the night. There are countless stories of teams playing in the rain at 1am, 2am, 3am in the morning. There are usually 100 teams or more from around the country and sometimes internationally. Each player and coach pays between $1,800 - $2,000 for the overall tournament package, which includes accommodations, meals, gear, and the tournament itself. Of course travel expenses are not included. They cannot postpone the games because each week throughout the summer a new tournament starts. Many people said that is a ridiculous amount of money to pay just to win a tournament. The tournament usually takes in $2.5 million to $3 million dollars in gross revenue per tournament. 🤯 But former players, coaches and parents will tell you it has nothing to do with winning but it is about the experience of playing there. It’s a special place to play and experience baseball. Sounds like they dropped the ball on this one. I say let the kids play or refund them a prorated amount. Worried about weather or injuries? Have the parents sign a waiver. 💯 What would you do if you paid all that money to play (I know some will say they wouldn’t pay that money) and your kid’s tournament was cancelled? What can you do if it is stipulated that there are no refunds? 🤷‍♂️

Like I typically don't love playing the week before a major. The Tour right now's in a great position. It's nice to have so many tournaments that are really good and, I mean, people always ask me about what's my favorite tournament out here and it's always hard to say because we get treated so well at all the tournaments. There's really not a tournament that I played that I haven't liked. There's not a tournament that I wouldn't want to go back to. Because I’m blessed and cursed to be used to something of the highest degree in terms of results and achievements. In some way I’m also dealing with myself in a sense that I’m telling myself, look, this is amazing that you’re still able to play at such a high level and push the youngsters to the limit for Grand Slam titles. But at the same time, I always have the highest expectations for myself. It’s kind of that internal battle of what I’ve been through for 20+ years of my career, what the goals were, the expectations.. and trying to also balance it out and trying to be a bit more humble in that sense. I still enjoy the thrill of competition. Maybe I don’t enjoy all the hard weeks leading up to big tournaments, putting myself over and over again through a lot of pain, physically mostly. I’m glad that this tournament the body held pretty well. Pretty much every other tournament the last few years it was always something. I feel like when I’m healthy I’m still able to play as a top 5 player, still able to compete at the highest level. I like it. I like this life. Tennis has given me everything in my life and has allowed me an opportunity to become who I am. At the same time of course there’s always a question of how far do you wanna go, what you wanna play, how you wanna play, etc. I try to take it, in a sense, a day at a time and see how I feel. .UCF Baseball's inaugural Big 12 season is going to be a lot of fun. Every weekend will be high-level baseball. Knights will play 30 conference games over 10 weekends. I'll have more from Rich Wallace next week. "Anybody that comes out of the Big 12, ACC or SEC that gets in the NCAA Tournament has a chance to win it all because they've seen everything. It's a matter of can you do it or not."

Did FPS games peak in the 90s? I guess the newer ones have better graphics, but do they really "feel" better in terms of gameplay and fun? Unreal Tournament (Epic Games, 1999) was one of the best of its kind. A favorite for our LAN sessions back in the day. Carrying a 21" mintor over to your friend's house felt a little less heavy when you knew you'd be playing Unreal later that day... Exellent and colorful graphics (even on PCs that weren't high end, like those you needed for Quake III Arena for example), great sound, and your typical capture the flag or deathmatches - I mean, what more did you need? Plenty of "Game of the Year" nominations (with some wins), the highest critcal acclaim, and massive sales numbers. I think we can all agree that Unreal Tournament belongs in the Hall of Fame of FPS games. Or maybe I am just getting old and gloryfing things from the past too much.

My opinion was that a common strategy was necessary. But that never happened. Then I left office and the war began."

Scottie Scheffler was asked ahead of the BMW Championship his thoughts on the new changes coming on the PGA Tour and whether he’d like to see any of the LIV players back. On the incoming changes, he said: “Getting the best players competing against each other more often is what we want as players. I assume, you guys in the media, that’s what you’d want to see. I assume that’s what the fans want as well and I think that’s the direction that we’re heading. “Making things a bit simpler in terms of who’s going to be at what tournament at what time. Golf has always been a difficult game to rank when you’re not playing head to head, and so getting the best players playing head to head more often than not in a proper tournament is, I think, the best way to do things.” He then was asked whether he’d like to see the PGA Tour offering LIV Golf players the same opportunity to return that was given to Brooks Koepka earlier this year: “Yeah, I think, when we talk about the best players, LIV has a few players that are really good. I think, the depth that we have on our tour is unmatched, but when you look at higher levels of LIV Golf there are definitely players that would provide a value to the tour and guys that I love competing against as well. “So I think going forwards there obviously has to be some kind of penalties. What they are, I’ll let Rolapp and all those guys figure it out. We have great leadership within the tour now. “But I think having those guys coming back and competing, whatever happens with LIV, whether those guys want to leave, you’ve got to ask them.
