The Niceaunties AI Video Grant is Now Open At Fellowship, we believe in creating an environment for experimentation and the development of ideas. That is why, when niceaunties proposed a 6-month grant program for mentorship and the creation of AI videos, we immediately said yes. The program will help support six artists, one every month, to create a Solo Show for the Fellowship Daily program. The commitment is to produce eight new videos based on a theme proposed by Niceaunties. This will be an open call for all the Daily Artists and the AI video community. Q: What's the secret to building a great product that grows really fast? Paul Graham explains that the secret to growing really fast is to: "start with a small, intense fire." He uses Apple as an example. They started by selling just 500 Apple I computers. Today Apple is the largest company in the world. It's impossible to make something that a large number of people really want when you're just starting out. So you have to find people who want what you're building A LOT. And that's necessarily going to be a small number at first. But that's ok because that's how almost every giant company gets started. PG continues: "You have to know who those first users are and how you're going to get them. Then you're going to sit down and just have a party with those first few users and focus entirely on them and making them super super happy." Another example he draws upon is a startup in a Y Combinator batch making a new mobile email client. Their beta group had one user: Sam Altman. This startup's goal was to just make Sam happy. Sam uses email a lot on the go, knows all of the other email client options, and is super demanding. So they know that if they build a product that makes Sam happy, odds are it will make lots of other people happy too. "One of the things we tell startups in these extreme cases where they can make just one user happy is to act like a consultant. Act like Sam has hired you to make an email app just for him. All you have to do is make Sam happy--it can say 'Sam Altman' at the top of the screen. That's ok! Just so long as Sam would feel bummed if you stopped working on it. That's the test." The #SEAHORSE lore might be the best story I've witnessed this year in crypto. (Ca posted below) In summary: Andrew Shaman got a crash course in crypto tonight and launched a coin called Seahorse while streaming on Kick. With no idea how anything crypto related worked, a person in chat hopped in a private call on stream and "helped" him launch. This person sniped over 60% of the supply and sold around $700,000 profit in the matter of a few minutes. Shaman then got on another call with the man who's voice is in the video below. This person broke it down respectfully and helped Shaman sell half of his supply for around $50,000. Below is the genuine reaction of a man who finally had a big break in life. Shaman has been sleeping on his buddies couch for 3 years, streaming for 10 years, and only had a few thousand to his name. $I am not sure if your post was in reference to my earlier post that sparked diverse reactions and interpretations. As someone who respects your views, I feel compelled to offer this clarification, especially given your position and your caliber as a key stakeholder in national and public discourse. I want to state unequivocally that the Anchor Borrowers’ Programme (ABP) was never a fraud. Instead, it stood out as one of the most ambitious, impactful and arguably most successful agricultural initiatives in the history of our country. The programme was designed with the noble intention of supporting smallholder farmers, to boost local food production, reduce our reliance on imports and ultimately achieve food security. Even in my earlier post, I did not suggest that the programme was a failure or fraudulent. What I did acknowledge, however, is the undeniable fact that the ABP, like many large-scale interventions, was unfortunately abused by a few bad elements, individuals who either diverted the funds to unrelated ventures or deliberately hoarded their harvests to exploit price hikes and maximize personal profit at the expense of national interest. Those who still deny this reality are simply not being honest with themselves, though, of course, they are well within their rights to hold a contrary opinion. That said, it is equally important to recognize and celebrate the thousands of honest and hardworking farmers who embraced the Programme in its true spirit. (May Allah (SWT) bless them.) Their efforts helped this country, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. They fed this nation, stabilized the economy and sustained local markets when global supply chains were disrupted. So, to say that I dismissed the entire success of the Programme because of the mention of few bad elements who abused the system was truly unfair. This road cuts through harsh mountainous terrain. Its proximity to a porous border makes both machinery & manpower frequent targets for terrorists, posing extraordinary challenges to those working on the ground. Despite these threats, the road was completed with the steadfast support of law enforcement, particularly the Frontier Corps (FC), who neutralized multiple operatives of banned outfits to ensure the project’s progress. Before making sweeping public allegations, ground realities must be verified. Such development in conflict zones demands extraordinary courage and sacrifice, often unseen from afar. Brands and tech companies are uniquely equipped to help artists take big creative swings, and I'm going to explore the intersection of those worlds. Today we raise our voices in jubilation. We honour Sam Sharpe, whose sacrifice ignited a revolution. We remember his famous words in a letter to the British Parliament, he said “I would rather die upon yonder gallows than live in slavery”. We remember the countless souls who toiled, suffered, and yearned for a dawn of liberty. Their legacy courses through our veins, urging us to build a Jamaica where justice flows like our rivers, where equality blooms like our tropical flowers. We cannot afford to stop now. The struggle for justice persists — with the lessons of history still echoing in our lives today. It is crucial that we continue to advocate for reparations, but we do not wait on it. We must use our freedom to build our own wealth and secure our economic independence. Every child who celebrates freedom today must be taught that their joy is built upon the courage and sacrifices of those who fought for freedom and for the right to be able to use our God given talent and energy for our sustainable economic gain. I and others who invest in real estate have tried to get a meeting to figure out what's rhetoric and what's policy. So far, for me, it's been crickets. I think it's a mistake on his part. I'm a rational person. I'm only interested in one thing and I think he has to address this. Tell me how you're gonna do this. I gotta put $50 million into a building to build it, just to get it going, and the market's gonna want probably somewhere between an 8% and 11% return on the construction financing and when I stabilize it, they'll be happy with 7%-8% return. You're telling me I have to have frozen rent rates, even going into 3% inflation. How am I going to be able to raise any money for a new build? Not just me, anybody.
