I'm hoping I'm the first in the world to get Apple's Object Capture code working on the iPhone, I pulled an all nighter as soon as it was announced - was I? Official documentation comes out tomorrow -#augmentedreality #ios #iPhone #WWDC23

I actually thought they'd be thermally constrained for iPhone, less so on iPad. Nice to see it so snappy.

Yeah it’s amazing the phone doesn’t even heat up unlike a heavy AR session!

I was up at 4am to watch the ski googles show so not much leverage left now.

I thought Object Capture was released 2 years ago at #WWDC21: Is this an update to it?

👀 nice, can someone explain to me how is this different than something like polycam that’s been out for over a year? different sensor being used or something?

It’s processing the photos on the phone vs the cloud. Polycam does do a rough processing live, which is great - not downplaying what they do or anyone else in the space!
