We’ve all been in this situation where you’ve got a HGV in front of you and you’re coming up to the junction you want, but what do you do ? Do you stay behind at a safe distance and wait or do you cut in front at the last minute ? Remember the braking distance of a HGV is much greater than a car or van. As a HGV driver I see this daily and I’m constantly planning ahead. A vehicle cutting in front of us at the last minute can cause issues and potentially an accident, we’ve already created a safe distance to start braking. For the vehicle that has just cut in, you don’t know what’s going on with other vehicles in front of you. For the sake of a couple minutes being stuck behind us, just be patient and keep a safe distance. It’s just terrible, the violence, the division, it’s just really disappointing. I’m really disappointed in all of it. You wish you could influence it, but you really can’t from our position.
