The point isn’t just about me moving. It’s about why so many are leaving. The UK used to be the place to thrive. Now it punishes success, mismanages taxes, and drives out opportunity. Me moving helps me. But calling it out might help others wake up before it’s too late.

Welcome to Dubai :) What the whole “tax the rich” movement fails to understand is that they are addressing a symptom, not the root cause: government overregulation plays into the hands of the ultra rich because only very large companies and asset holdings have the economies of scale to manage the regulatory complexity efficiently and effectively. A wealth tax doesn’t reduce regulation and thus the ultra rich will still escape the net. But a wealth tax will eat out your middle class further. If you’re middle class, whether you have already made a few million or you have the talent/skills/energy to get there, your best chance to attain your financial (and family) goals is outside of Europe. Staying means running with enormous headwinds and brakes AND all fruits of our efforts being confiscated and squandered by our governments. It’s not the ultra rich that flee - they’re already settled and shielded. It’s the hard working middle class that is fleeing. And they should. The disrespect for hard work and success is through the roof in the West. So yes, welcome to Dubai.
