this website is hopeless

Inb4 the hub is actually a switch being sneaky.

I STG if someone says that i scoop their eyeballs out

If it is really a hub (and not a switch), the two ports are transmitting at the same time and detecting collisions and bailing out. Hubs don’t store and forward, so packet just dies there. Add another hub and you will get what you want.

Probably because hubs are half duplex and only one device can send traffic at a time. The incoming ping is copied out of the two other ports but they can't recieve while transmitting. Even if they could that would instantly cause a collision.

Your laptop went "What are you doing? Stop it. Do you WANT a broadcast storm?????"

I WANT IT GIVE ME THE STORM

Disable spanning tree. I see a green and yellow lights on the ports, not familiar with this device, but this might be the light status for admin up, but SPT is disabling the port.

Ports are partitioned because of excess collisions (solid yellow light on FE108)

Diagnostic step, try the same with ports 1-3 or 4-7. Guessing that there's two separate sets of hub hardware in that box, each serving 4 ports, possibly linked together as a switched network
