@nancytsidley As a former chef, if you are boiling pasta, the water you are boiling it in should be salted to the point of being like ocean water. If you're hydrating with actual sea water (as in drinking it) non stop and not drinking unsalted water, then yeah, you will dehydrate.

@nancytsidley Not only high salt content of ocean water - Vibrio Infection - bacteria can live in brackish salt water. There also may be contaminants, etc. Boy - Brooklyn may be cooking basic dishes, but I'd never eat what he makes. Ugh!

@nancytsidley It’s actually a very common practice to use ocean water as a base to boil pasta… it’s already salted water, it’s boiled for multiple minutes so it’s safe, and it’s a little bit of whimsy when you’re vacationing on a boat in the ocean… which I’m assuming you’ve never done

Is this rage bait? Pasta is cooked in salted water…the only issue using water from the ocean is that it should be diluted 1:1 with fresh water for proper seasoning.He isn’t drinking it…And I guess there’s always risk of micro contaminants from boats, depending on where he is.
