While I didn't show it, a lot of these interactions also affect purely strike-based combos. Sloped floors give higher juggle potential, electrical floors reward hard knockdowns, slippery surfaces give slip stuns, etc. Throws are just more visually appealing to show lol

Always loved how DoA did it. The fact that some characters even had water specific throws, like Leon would try to drown your ass

I show that throw at the end of the video lol

We also have cheetahs

The DOA series is the closest thing to a Virtua Fighter 3 spinoff we've ever gotten, it's so damn cool

All gone in DoA5 later updates, it wasn't FGC approved, so they made the 6th super game boring One of the best things was exploring the levels what they can do Not everything needs to be FGC tailored

For what it's worth, a good chunk of these interactions were still in the franchise even by DOA6, just in different forms.

I'd be shocked if these are considered tournament viable...

Ceilings were one of the many reasons Hayabusa was as good as he was lol

DOA was always ahead of the game when it came to stage interaction in fgs, hold it dear so much for that Knocking ppl off cliffs/through windows, starting combos with furniture, differences in terrain affecting stuns and juggles...it all makes for such a lively experience!
