That video broke me and left me feeling so hopeless about how Iryna died. I wish I could have done something to help. I was in tears watching her alone and crying. I stand with the president in calling for the death penalty for the person responsible.

They could've at least gone to her and try to help her stop the bleeding. But not even that. Whether or not it would have saved her doesn't matter, you try. I always thought these actions were instinctive, that deep down we all have a primal urge to help, but I guess I was wrong.

The woman couldn’t intervene, but she could have helped her. Phoned 911. Sat with her. She could have done that much.
