January fitness check in. Legs today. Still sick-ish and felt it in recovery between sets. Worked up to 275 then 3x3. Dropped to 225 for 5x5. Then work capacity triplet. 5 rounds 10x squat at 135 10x KB Goblet Squat 10x Weighted step ups Overall making progress. I'm sitting at a pretty lean 180. Not counting calories but probably 2500 a day. - 2-3 clean meals - 100ish grams of protein - 7-10 grams creatine - Generic pre-workout - Mushroom coffee to cut back on caffeine - no booze - junk snacks in Sunday only Bench working sets at 245 for 3x3. Pulling 345 on dead lift for 5x5. Squats comfortable at 275 for 3-5. Five mile is around 37 minutes. Was pretty disciplined this month. Missed 3 workouts to illness and did 2 shitty ones in a hotel gym. Still need to get stronger, faster, and build work capacity. (Without getting hurt).

Strong legs are the foundations of a stable posture, yet many let theirs weaken over time. You lose your ability to move and stand upright. Much of my work with chronic pain clients involves strengthening the legs. This video shows 8 essential lower body motions: 1- Hip Extensions Standing upright involves straightening your torso to align it with your lower body, an extension of your hips executed by your Glutes and Hamstrings. The problem is you sit on these muscles all day, weakening them over the years to the point where they fail to do their job. Your lower back picks up the slack against its will and becomes overworked. I'll start chronic pain clients with Hip Bridges on the floor to ensure everything is balanced, then progress to Hip Thrusts and eventually Standing exercises like the Romanian Deadlift. As for the Deadlift off the floor, those are great if you can access a barbell or kettlebell. - Hip Bridge (0:05) - Hip Thrust (0:11) - Romanian Deadlift (0:17) - Deadlift (0:23) 2- Split Squats Split Squats are excellent for strengthening the knees. In the case of a chronic pain client, I use them to stretch the quad and Hip Flexors of the back leg, which are often extremely stiff due to sitting. This stiffness makes the body collapse forward and is often the limiting factor when people try this exercise for the first time. I'll start someone with the Front Foot elevated because it's easier on the front leg and gives a great stretch, then progress to flat and rear foot elevated. - Front foot elevated (0:30) - Flat (0:36) - Rear-foot elevated (0:42.2) 3- Lunges Lunges are the dynamic version of the Split Squat. Besides being excellent for strengthening your leg muscles, the one thing I love about this exercise is that it teaches you how to brace yourself as your foot lands. Many people lack the core strength to absorb an impact. Lunges develop that shock absorption capacity, especially when done with weights. Ensure you have mastered the Split Squats before doing them, and use different directions to target your muscles differently. - Forward (0:48) - Back (0:54.7) - Side (1:07) 4- Squats The king of all exercises is crucial for your ascension. The vertical motion improves your ability to overcome the world's weight crashing down upon you. It's also an amazing Glute and Quad stretch in the bottom position. I'll start chronic pain clients with the bodyweight variation before progressing them to weighted and eventually one-legged, also known as Pistol Squats. Doing one leg at a time is one of the best ways to balance your body's left and right sides from head to toe. - Body weight (1:12.5) - Loaded (1:19) - Pistol (1:25.5) 5- Step-ups Step-ups are amongst my favorite one-sided exercises to strengthen the Glutes and Quads. They are excellent for improving the stability of your hips and abdominal muscles. Use the Front and Lateral variations to maximize your results. - Front (1:31.5) - Lateral (1:38) 6 - Leg Curls Leg Curls strengthen the lower attachment of your Hamstrings. They are an integral part of my knee and lower back recovery programs because many people are weak due to sitting. I'll have chronic pain clients use a towel to create muscle resistance, though you can do them standing to get some much-needed blood flow. The best way to benefit from this exercise is by using an exercise ball or a machine at the gym. - Standing (1:43) - Towel (1:49) - Exercise ball (1:55.4) - Machine (2:02.1) 7- Adductions The inner thigh muscles become problematic when people sit with their legs crossed. They either get stiff or weak depending on whether you cross one leg over the other or with your foot on the opposite knee. I love Copenhagen Planks to restore the balance in your adductors. - Knee-bent (2:08.8) - Straight-leg (2:14) 8- Calf Raises The ankles are the cornerstone of your posture because they affect the alignment of every other joint above. Strong Calves are essential to their stability, yet many omit them from their workouts. Standing Calf Raises also strengthen the knees from behind. Doing the Donkey variation, you'll feel an intense stretch from the knee to the ankle. Seated Calf Raises work a different lower leg muscle essential to pump blood back up from your feet. - Standing (2:20.5) - Donkey (2:26.6) - Seated (2:33.3) Include these 8 types of motions in your routine as an insurance policy against serious mobility problems down the line. 🐰 “Late-night snacks?” No, no, no. Now that I’m getting close to thirty, dieting doesn’t work like it used to. I’m not doing an especially strict diet right now though. Why? Because even though I’m working out, the amount of weight I can lift has dropped a lot. It honestly bummed me out, so for now I’m just trying to eat clean. 🐰 Today during PT, I worked on legs for the first time in a while, and I tried doing back squats again after a long time. I couldn’t even do ten reps at 80 kilos… it was shocking. Leg day really is a battle against the world, haha. Anyway, I started running again, and I started boxing again too. I’m going to get back to the stamina I had when I was younger. Back then, running 10km was no big deal. 🐰 I’ll try to find a new dieting method. I seriously can’t eat chicken breast anymore. What do I do… I’m deleting this wallpaper. I can’t do this anymore. Just the smell of chicken breast annoys me now. It puts me in a bad mood. You know what I mean, right? Ever since debuting, I’ve tried just about every diet imaginable, and they definitely do work…

I'm actually in the studio for 20 years making music. I wake up one day and he sold his company for $500 million. I'm from Brooklyn. I want to make a lot of money. I'm not embarrassed by that. I wanted to live like I saw on tv. David: What I love in “The Defiant Ones” …cause everybody feels this way. Especially if you didn't grow up with money. I know exactly what you're talking about. This story comes from when you were an engineer, not a record producer [yet]. You see this producer and he comes in and he's got a leather jacket, a fancy bag, and he's got a beautiful girl. And you’re like: That’s it! Jimmy: Yeah, you bet. That's it. You gotta tell yourself the truth. I'm not Bob Dylan, Mick Jagger. Bruce Springsteen, Stevie Wonder. Marvin Gaye. Bryson DeChambeau shot a final round 65 to finish 3rd at LIV Golf Korea, just 1 shot out of the playoff. He said after the round that the improvement was due to the work he did with Gemini AI after the 71 on Saturday: “Yeah, the beginning of the first round I felt great. Golf swing felt in sync and then it started getting out of sync and it felt like my hands were getting ahead of me. It continued that way for the next two rounds, and it was very frustrating. “I spent some long hours on the range trying to figure some stuff out and I was talking to AI quite a bit last night trying to go through some different physics principles that makes the club turn over, having some alpha torque and gamma torque put in there. I was like, what makes that possibly do that, and was talking about just grip pressure and tension. “So I came out here today with just a little bit more freer hands, and I felt the club a lot better, and I felt like I could close the club a lot more effectively and then I started striping it. “From then on out, I was able to kind of control it. Still missed some wedges to the right coming in, which is kind of frustrating, but that's just me holding on a little bit rather than just letting it go. “I feel like I'm on the right path now, and I had it okay in the first round, but really felt it -- I felt really good this round. I felt better than I did in the first round, which is a good trend. “Hopefully it continues, and I'm just continuing to learn. That's the thing; this game is so brutal. Missing two cuts at the majors and you feel like you're golden going in there, won a couple events and playing well, and this game can kick you when you're at your highest. “It goes for all of us, not just me. It's everybody here. Everybody wants to win. “I think that's the beautiful part about golf is that it can kick you when you're at your highest or it can bring you up when you're at your lowest, and yet we have to respect the game for that. “So I felt great. Didn't feel great in the middle of the tournament, but then the last round today I felt a lot better. “I'm proud of the way I persevered to finish third without really anything.” And then spoke about the Gemini assisted practice session he had at 8pm: “I was slamming the club in the ground trying to figure out what to do. I was frustrated. Been trying everything in my body. I didn't actually figure it out on the range. I went back and started talking to Gemini and trying to figure out just what it could be to passively make the club turn over. Hands just felt like they were moving forward like this and I couldn't get the club to turn over. Even if I tried to stop it here, it still wouldn't turn over. “So I left kind of frustrated and learned later that night that I just needed to relax my grip pressure and let the thing just fold over naturally. “I'm still working it out. I don't have the answer.” The solo 3rd was a good bounce back from a disappointing missed cut at the PGA Championship. Anne Hathaway tells the story of dancing at a party before opening her eyes to see everyone recording her with their phones. Oh my gosh, I love this outfit. I had so much fun. This was such a fun night out in Paris. Adam and I were so lucky. We’re parents, we have two young kids, but we had a stolen weekend in Paris and got to go to the Valentino Couture show that Pierpaolo had invited us to. I got to go to their beautiful showroom, and this was waiting for me on a hanger. The tights were so beautiful. They were a little hard to stand in, but I didn’t care because I felt fierce. It was just a fantastic night. I think we all wound up on the dance floor, and Pierpaolo came over when we were talking. Then at a certain point he just goes, “I’m so sorry, I can’t be here. It’s not right. It’s not right that there’s a rope here. We should be out there. I’m going to go out there.” I was like, “Well, of course, you’re absolutely right, and I should be out there too.” So we went out there and we were dancing, and the song was so good and the vibe was so lovely that I just kind of closed my eyes and started dancing. When I looked up, I saw that like half of the dance floor had their phones out. Justin Thomas is playing the Charles Schwab Challenge this week for the first time in 4 years. Ahead of the event, he said he builds his schedule around what best prepares him for the majors and it may change year to year: “Everybody's different. I would say the most, the first and foremost, most important thing that a lot of the top guys, a lot of, anybody that's in the majors, you're going to at least I would think, is what's going to prepare me the best for the major. So like I've had success in majors when I play the week before. “But playing San Antonio the week before the Masters for me doesn't feel like that's getting me prepared as much as possible for the Masters. Therefore, I don't play San Antonio. I had a year where the PGA, when it was at Southern Hills I wanted to play the week before Byron Nelson, it's easy travel, and I played the week before. So it's very situational of when you play, don't play in that regard. “But I mean I really, really, really try with all my might to not do four in a row, four in a row is like I'm not fun to be around. Tesla Model YL impressed the heck out of me! I’ve seen all the reviews and noticed many of the same things, so I won’t repeat what others have said, but I want to highlight stuff I haven’t seen many/any people talk about! TL;DR: passenger space is plentiful and not an issue, best model Tesla sells. Game changer for families. Passenger space/comfort I am 6’2 and can comfortably fit in all 3 rows even when adjusting them all to fit me-sized humans! Leg room is 100% not an issue. The only catch is 3rd row headroom. In a proper seating position, my head hit the glass. However, another guy who was 6’0 sat back there and was totally fine, so torso length matters! Even for me, a lil slouch or scooting my butt forward and it was totally fine. 6 adults can easily and comfortably fit in YL for sure. The thigh supports in the front row do absolutely nothing for anyone taller than probably 5’8. Very underwhelming. The captain’s chairs recline REALLY far, almost laying down, combined with the heated AND air conditioned seats and the first two rows are positively luxurious. Arm rests are also great and very sturdy. They come up high enough to still be comfy even for a tall guy like me. Tons of rear vents, air flow was really good and consistent throughout. Trunk space The sub-trunk cover magnetically attaching to the 3rd row seat-back is a great way to claw back some of the lost space when the 3rd row is up. Makes it very usable. Also, people have criticized the bump when the 3rd row is down, but there’s a pair of little folding arms (4th pic) that pops up and makes it totally flat. Great design! Head rests They are adjustable up and down via a mechanical button that you press and hold and just lift/lower the headrest by hand. (3rd video) Pretty decent amount of travel, and a huge improvement! These are on the 1st row AND the captain’s chairs! Camping I had a quick chance to fold all the seats down and climb in on my belly and close the trunk, and this is a huge improvement over the normal Y. I had TONS of room, my toes weren’t touching the trunk and my head wasn’t touching the front seat, not even close! And that was without moving the front seats at all! I sleep in our 2023 Y all the time and it’s great, but it’s only barely enough room and only with the front seats allllll the way forward. Also, the 4 extra vents in the rear cabin will be huge for air flow, which is somewhat of a problem in other Ys. Zen Grey Interior I’m a big proponent of Tesla’s white interior, and I like the Zen Grey! Definitely not stark white, but it’s still very light and looks phenomenal. Doesn’t look dingy at all. If you’re a white interior enthusiast like me, you’ll love Zen Grey too. General observations The showroom was PACKED with people and everyone was there for YL! I talked to a lot of people and let me tell you, families are super excited about YL! It was fun to watch everyone’s reaction as they climbed in the 3rd row and were shocked how usable it is.

Tesla Model YL impressed the heck out of me! I’ve seen all the reviews and noticed many of the same things, so I won’t repeat what others have said, but I want to highlight stuff I haven’t seen many/any people talk about! TL;DR: passenger space is plentiful and not an issue, best model Tesla sells. Game changer for families. Passenger space/comfort I am 6’2 and can comfortably fit in all 3 rows even when adjusting them all to fit me-sized humans! Leg room is 100% not an issue. The only catch is 3rd row headroom. In a proper seating position, my head hit the glass. However, another guy who was 6’0 sat back there and was totally fine, so torso length matters! Even for me, a lil slouch or scooting my butt forward and it was totally fine. 6 adults can easily and comfortably fit in YL for sure. The thigh supports in the front row do absolutely nothing for anyone taller than probably 5’8. Very underwhelming. The captain’s chairs recline REALLY far, almost laying down, combined with the heated AND air conditioned seats and the first two rows are positively luxurious. Arm rests are also great and very sturdy. They come up high enough to still be comfy even for a tall guy like me. Tons of rear vents, air flow was really good and consistent throughout. Trunk space The sub-trunk cover magnetically attaching to the 3rd row seat-back is a great way to claw back some of the lost space when the 3rd row is up. Makes it very usable. Also, people have criticized the bump when the 3rd row is down, but there’s a pair of little folding arms (4th pic) that pops up and makes it totally flat. Great design! Head rests They are adjustable up and down via a mechanical button that you press and hold and just lift/lower the headrest by hand.
