Call him whatever you want, he'll always be Mr. Baby to me! (even when he's 20!)

wow have you heard this

You're totally right, but there is also this beautiful moment the first time you say their name and they whip their head around and you're like, "THEY KNOW THEIR NAME!!" And it feels kind of magical.

😂😂 When I adopted my oldest she had a name, when people would ask her name they would say “that’s different!” I was able to change her name but I called her baby girl for like a year around people because I couldn’t legally call her by a new name. My youngest was named by bio parents and was too old to rename. Everyone now asks “OMG ARE YOU A GAMER??” When they hear her name. Bio dad was…🤣🤣🤣 It will be ok…call Mr. Baby whatever you want, eventually he will know his name and probably 3 or 4 others like “Mr. Baby!” 😂

Mr. Baby is perfectly acceptable in perpetuity

Listening to people was your first mistake.

I called my kids sweetie. The only time I called them by their names was when they were older and in trouble.

Tons of parents call their babies by nicknames- Pumpkin, Cutie Patootie, Sweetheart, etc. I’m pretty sure he will know his name regardless of what you call him. He’s not going to walk into preschool wondering who West is. Some people have the most redonculous views on parenting.

I called my daughter sweetheart from the word go. Her first sentence to me was 'I wuv u weethot'. You'll know when to get formal. Go with what comes natural. Love always wins.

Advise against “stinky potato hands” as a cute nickname.

I have 3 siblings and none of us were called by our legal first names. My mom was a Peter Pan fan, a Francophile, an Anglophile, and fairly traditional. We all know our “real” names. It’s not a problem. But none of us were called Mr. Baby and I think we missed out.
