Should preface this by saying that there’s many things I really admire and respect about AES and I hope he wins. Just slightly disappointed that he’s taken this weird 2015-esque position on socialism. Now is a time for audacity not falling back on the old, weaker terms of debate.

This feels like such an AI metric, focus group driven campaign tactic. "Our charts says that the kids like socialism and Karl Marx. So if we turn Adam Smith into Karl Marx and say that capitalism is real socialism and the American economy is bad socialism, we win the election!" Like, what the fuck even is this? I'm so disconnected from America that perhaps I'm naive in thinking no one could possibly get behind this nonsense?

Where was the pushback? It wasn't not in this clip. Saying that our ancestors were used as pawns in the early stages of american capitalism isn't pushback. Most people cant have the conversation or want to be capitalist so the convo goes nowhere like this clip seems it did
