TESLA’S SURPRISE ⚡️ Lars recently told Herbert Ong and Jeff Lutz 🔋 that “a week from Tuesday there will be some cool news about things happening around Giga Texas as part of the scaling effort”! Going out on a limb here, but I think I know exactly what Tesla has in store. It's something I predicted in a video 15 months ago - and I am impatient to the bone to see the official announcement. The news will show the convergence of two massive Tesla product lines: Cybercab and Optimus. The Cybercab line will be almost completely automated by industrial robots - it’s the machine that builds the machine. However, there will still be tasks requiring human-level dexterity and flexibility where building dedicated, custom machinery is just too complex and costly. But to become a true alien dreadnought, spitting out cars every 5 seconds, humans must be removed from the loop. To enable that, those specific jobs will be performed by Optimus robots - ideally from Day 1. 🤖🚖 While I'm not sure if all stations are already staffed by Optimus, I am certain some are. Lars uncharacteristically struggled to keep this secret to himself, and this feels like exactly the milestone he’s hinting at. And I can’t imagine doing anything bigger than that either.
