Cute mantis. We have mantis nest once in a while put on our house.

I used to keep these as pets years ago. I would put a cricket in its jar and hold as still as possible for maybe an hour or two. Movement scared them and they wouldn't eat or would stop eating if they got at all spooked.

That baby wants to hang out with it's new momma! 🥹 Don't worry too much about how fragile they are because they're very good about holding on, just don't hold them too high or squeeze. They like crawling up at an angle and that one is especially curious with the way it reached for you! I have had many mantids and currently have 6, they're amazing and so rewarding as pets! Some even like screen time :3 Congrats on your new baby! 💜
