Friends from Europe are texting and calling me about the horrendous situation in Amsterdam. In the night of November 7 in Amsterdam there were widespread and terrible raids on Jewish people. The Dutch local government has failed. My thoughts are with the victims. I am furious with the Dutch local government. This is what we have become. Because we have forgotten that this violence is still possible if we are not honest, vigilant and decisive. If people who live in Europe are capable of this horrible attacks, it says a lot about how europe failed to impose its values even on its own soil. A tiny 2% tax on wealth above £10m, is a drop in the ocean for just 20k Brits - but would raise £24Bn with which we could do so much. Rachel Reeves needs to be brave, understand the people want this - even millionaires want this and there’s nothing to fear. If we think there is let’s change our tax rules and make them like the USA - citizens pay tax back home wherever in the world they choose to live. Problem solved.

Absolutely fed up. This is Prabhadevi Railway Station — a key hub in Mumbai, surrounded by offices, used by thousands daily. Yet, every monsoon, we’re welcomed by knee-deep water, choked drains, and the stench of neglect. Years of complaints. Zero action. The waterlogging right outside the station remains unresolved — a recurring nightmare. Ministry of Railways blames माझी Mumbai, आपली BMC, BMC blames Railways, and both shrug off responsibility like it’s someone else’s mess. Meanwhile, citizens wade through filth, risk infections, miss work, and suffer in silence. Is this the state of a “financial capital”? Where are the funds, the engineers, the planning? Where is the accountability? Why does no one care till a tragedy occurs? We don’t pay taxes for this. We don’t vote for apathy. We demand functioning drainage, clean roads, and BASIC civic infrastructure. This is not just poor governance — this is contempt for the people of Mumbai. Do your jobs. Fix this. Enough is enough. Seriously disappointed 😞 and whole mood spoiled .. Sir Ashwini Vaishnaw is this the standard we are maintaining in one the most premium train premium coach.. I am travelling by Ndls Lucknow Swarn Shatabdi from Lucknow it started at 0330 pm right now in E 2 coach.. And this is view I get after entering the toilet .. Its beyond shameful sir .. If we are maintaining such standards for most premium train and premium coach god knows the situation with others.. IndianRailways IRCTC Indian Railway Stations Development Corp. Ltd. This way we can never compete with world's top services .. Kindly share max everyone

🫂🙏Thanks to the bit of aid that entered Gaza recently, plus the contract which helps us generate water from our source, we were finally able to both distribute water and warm meals today. We distributed clean water to people in the camp and the neighbourhood, and we were able to give everyone in the camp a big bowl of lentils. Even my dad joined in to help. As the prices keep rising and water is almost impossible to get, this feels like some sort of victory. At the same time, we are always painfully aware of the fact that we can't help everyone. There are so many people dying every day, my dear friends. So many people go to bed hungry day after day. Everybody is losing weight and some people are like skeletons. People sometimes collapse in the street as their bodies run out of energy. It is impossible for me to really explain what it is like to live here. I can't find a better description than 'living hell' but even this is not enough to let you know how it feels to be stuck in it. I wish you could smell what death, garbage, open sewers, dust from debris and the smoke from bombs smells like for instance. It is impossible to describe and it's also something we all prefer to pretend not to notice. We never talk about it even though we all know it's there, everywhere and all the time. I wish I could describe all the things we experience every day, as I'm sure you would understand us better. I hope you will never find out what it is like yourselves, my dear friends. May a ceasefire be near for Gaza. My family and I will have a nice warm meal of lentils today, and I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for this. It is your generosity that makes it possible for the people in the camp and us to have food, and for people in our neighbourhood to have fresh water again. We are extremely proud of this achievement that we have accomplished together. We truly risked our lives to reach this place, as it is located very close to military deployment areas, and the road was extremely dangerous at every moment. We have now started our new project to provide clean drinking water, and this truck is heading to one of the most dangerous and heavily affected areas. The work is exhausting and extremely tiring, but the need for clean water cannot wait. Displaced families are facing a severe shortage of safe drinking water, and more people are relying on this support every day. Today, we are launching water truck number 11 as part of this project, continuing despite all challenges and risks. We have so many questions: Why is this man behaving in this way? What is he trying to achieve? Is he trying to show how macho he is inflicting pain and hurt on a baby???? This is Urban Cowboys at their finest, this is what we are fighting against. This cannot be tolerated. This video has been sent to the gaurds and we will pursue for abuse and cruelty. New York and Chicago are two big hubs in the eastern US. Distance: 800 miles or 1300km roughly. Same as Delhi - Mumbai in India. There are 3 ways to travel. You can fly. You can drive. Or you can take a train. Fastest train is Amtrak lakeshore which takes ~19hrs. Driving takes 14hrs but you need to rest as well. I love trains. So I decided to take Amtrak. Their sleeper class. Took a roomette. First of all - American trains run on standard gauge. Which is smaller than Indian broad gauge. The compartments are smaller. And the trains are less comfortable. They shake way more. Second - Americans really don’t understand passenger trains. This train left late and then sat on a random station for 30mins. It’s already running late and usually reaches 2-3 even 5hrs delayed. And this is supposed to be a premium train. Culprit ? Freight. Americans don’t have dedicated fright tracks. The train btw is full. Which means people do want to travel on it. All sorts of people. Old, young. Business travellers. Only 2 coaches are sleeper - rest are coach (chaircars). Then the train reaches Albani and has to merge with another train from boston. Whole process takes 30-45mins. Can you believe a major train just sitting off a closed platform, cutting off its engines and adding more bogies in the middle of its journey in India ? The train had power supply for 30 mins cause it’s powered by diesel engines. Which are cut off. Diesel engine. Yes. The entire route except parts of NYC is non electric. It’s all old school diesel. It slowly chugs after and stops everywhere it can. Like an old Indian passenger train. The cabin is decent as it should be for a $700 price. The food is microwaved prepackaged stuff - ie very bad. There’s a coach attendant but he doesn’t care. I’ve travelled extensively in Rajdhani - and I can tell you it’s high luxury compared to this. And for 1/10th the price. The food, the cabin - all are superior. The reason I’m bringing this up is not to say Indians know it better. Not at all. But that even the most advanced cultures get it wrong. Even the most sorted out people - the one most advanced in tech - somehow don’t know how to run cross-country trains at scale. And this is not even a cross country trip. Hardly 1/4th of it. So what did they get wrong ? They stopped building. Upgrading. Improving. They do a few things right. Like making good highways. Take that learning. They do many things wrong. Like this train. They’ve stopped building. No dedicated freight tracks. No magnificent new stations. No high speed rail. The only lesson to learn is to not make that mistake. Build. And keep building. There’s no substitute to that. Keep building. Keep upgrading. Keep improving.

We are one of the only NGOs still operating in the north, and while the need is immense and the suffering unimaginable, I want to acknowledge our brave staff and volunteers making this humanitarian aid possible. 🇵🇸✌🏻☮️

The train is spotlessly clean, yet this man proudly displays zero civic sense 🤡 by throwing peanut shells on the floor and turning the coach into a dustbin. This is the exact mentality that keeps India struggling. The Railways clean the trains again and again and people like these destroy it within minutes. What else can the Railways possibly do? For such behavior, strict enforcement and heavy fines are the only solutions. Public places are not your personal garbage bin. Keep them clean the way you keep your own home clean. 🛑 Clean India is impossible until mindsets are cleaned first.

💔My dear friends, the situation here is terrifying, everything is deteriorating further, and today the army displaced our people from the Cruelty-Free Camp. Thankfully they were able to escape unharmed, but they had to leave everything they owned behind. It is heartbreaking and terrifying, my friends. Everyone is tense and scared, and there’s so little resources available that I’m very worried that we are all going to die. The war seems to have returned with greater force and danger than ever before. There’s lots of people that have been displaced into our area, and today we were able to set up a small water distribution point with water from a nearby well, and there are a lot of people who we hope will benefit from it. Will you please help us to continue to help these poor people in any way we can? Helping the people and animals around us is the only thing that keeps us going, my friends, and seeing your kind words and efforts to stop this war are a great comfort to us in this terrifying time.. 🚨🙏 🫂🆘️🆘️ 🙏🐈 🐾🚨 🫂🐾🙏 💚🚨

There’s lots of people that have been displaced into our area, and today we were able to set up a small water distribution point with water from a nearby well, and there are a lot of people who we hope will benefit from it. Will you please help us to continue to help these poor people in any way we can?
