Today, in Parliament, I asked the Justice Minister an incredibly serious question. I sought confirmation that the government will not release early from prison Fiona Goddard’s perpetrators. This follows a letter, Fiona and many other victims and survivors have received from government which outlined they intend to assess whether to release early from prison many of those who carried out the most serious sexual offences, including gang rape. This has caused huge amounts of stress and anxiety. It is also fundamentally wrong. Rather than answering my direct question, the Minister responds with a political answer. This government is an absolute disgrace.
