I’m with her! The new Apple update is so bad! I did it only because I was forced to because I purchased a new Mac! I did manage to disable a few features though! Don’t do it if you don’t have to! 🤨

The magic that Apple had 10 to 15 years ago seems gone. I no longer bother to watch any Apple announcements. Seems that all they do is take last year's announcements and increment the numbers by one. I just paid $250 for a used iPhone 13 mini. I just like the smaller size (fits in my pocket). Once I can't get a mini then I'll probably buy some Android device.

Everyone is reporting: Faster battery drains. Slow charging cycles even with faster charging plugs. Random shutting off and auto restart. Posting on X takes longer and will fail. Some gaming apps freeze. Music apps also “stutter” songs. Hands down, worst update ever.

I had this same conversation with my girlfriend. They just change shit for the sake of changing it. Imagine this in the physical world - you come home to find the front door is now on the side of the house, the bath is in the kitchen and the tv is in the cupboard.

I was so mad!!! My phone storage was at its limit so I avoided the update. Then, magically, my phone updated overnight over the weekend. I am so frustrated with it!!! Apple always finds a way….

I hate what they did to the camera. I’m a photographer and use my phone a lot for editing and they f’cked it all up 🤦🏼‍♀️

I use Android, de-Googled as much as possible, and I disable as much bloatware as possible. Turn off all auto-updates etc. Replace all the stock apps with Open Source Equivalents. I see no point in paying for expensive Apple rubbish when they do this kind of thing.

Indeed. It's hard to avoid updates sometimes. The fact that you have to do piles of research to stop updates messing up the produce we pay for, is disturbing. I use Android, because it's cheaper, and has a lot of open-source apps available. It also seems easier to tinker with.

I’m truly disappointed

12/14/25 - Here's why, Apple (fully DEI) hired DEI over the the last decade, and still today. These are unqualified employees that end up doing stupid things. For example, on iPad one control will be in the top right corner, u get used to it there, then on iPhone they put that same button on the bottom left. That is stupid.

I tried to stop the new update to no avail. I utterly hate it. I have a 14 max and all it does it glitch now. Even with all my automatic update settings shut off, my phone still uploaded it. The @Apple iOS 26.2 destroyed my husbands backup phone. He had to purchase a new one.

Her phone drains because she don’t close apps. When apps are open even in the background they are using data especially if location is turned on for the apps. It takes energy to use data therefore draining your battery. The update isn’t that bad. People complain every update and continue to use the product.

@PfeifferDon Yeah the new workout app update is horrible, the scrolling just doesn’t work like it did in the old one. I either miss the workout by it scrolling too much or won’t at all. The mute for this workout is nice but the UI is horrible.

It’s so bad. I’ve been struggling. All of these things come automatically and you have to figure out what’s wrong. The damn assistive touch thing my phone dead answering itself and I’d hear people saying hello as I walked back to my phone… this is after it froze up and I lost everything. I almost threw it out on the freeway.
