I'm sick and tired of these tokenistic Welcome to Country ceremonies and I am going to stand my ground on this issue. They're divisive, they're unnecessary, and they've got to stop. Why should I be expected to acknowledge "elders past, present, and emerging" at every single event? It's not bringing us together; it's driving us apart. There's nothing wrong with turning your back on it. I've heard from many Aussies who are fed up, who've had it forced on them at work or events, and they're tired of being called racist for speaking their minds. I was born here, just like many of you. Where's our connection to the land acknowledged? It's time we stopped this divisive practice. Let's focus on what truly matters: unity and respect for all Australians, not just empty gestures.

From my experience of being a Mother now for 3 weeks, it has been pretty hard, I have hardly any sleep and I feel exhausted all the time. But you know what makes it all worth while, is seeing my baby girl smiling while she is sleeping and hearing her giggle makes all the bad things seem like nothing. Having your own baby is the most precious thing you can ever do, I feel like my life is worth living for now, because I have something to fight for and to fight for the White Race 🫶🏼

My Chinese parents land today to meet their new grandson. I tell my kids "I love you" every day. My dad has never said it to me once. I know he loves deeply. He just never says it. I once overheard him reading "I Love You Through and Through" to my daughter. I froze. He was saying it. Over and over. Just not to me. A few years ago, I told a story for The Moth and NPR about my dad, and how we learned to speak love between the lines. It won the GrandSlam. Sharing it today, because they're on a plane to meet the newest person he'll love without saying it. 🎧

I love how Frieren is so consistent about making memories with your loved ones while they're still around. Because when they're gone, it's their memories that stay with you until your last breath. And it's those sweet little moments that soothe your heart. Sometimes memories are what we hold on to and what pushes us forward in life. No matter how big or small, they mean something, and we only truly understand their value as we get older. This is one of my favorite parts of this beautiful story, and it's exactly why I'm so attached to it. Everything about it just feels so deeply human.
