one idea i just had which involves the ide extension is something like apple’s private cloud compute + local model where it’ll use codex locally for simple prompts, maybe with gpt 5 medium/high but if there’s a really hard task it gets sent to the cloud w/ gpt 5 pro and

and it gets access to more tools like full unrestricted computer access like agent mode. this could perhaps only be there for pro users or at api costs + cloud cost

i am once again asking for vs code integration

Awesome, turning to codex cli more and more often now. One feature requests, hooks - just to have commands run at various stages of the lifecycle. Given codex cli can easily work for >10mins its nice to be able to trigger notifications etc when its done.

currently it will not let me scroll in the terminal, the gpt output is always disappearing cant scroll up

Yes, but it didnt work before aswell. Using it in Cursor

@thsottiaux I haven’t tried to latest patch but you can scroll in terminal outside of cursor but not in cursor

can we clarify usage limits with chatgpt plus/pro? how many million token limits for which model? how much we used, how much remained? when it resets? before starting to work, i want to know if i have enough limit or not. context are lost while changing from subscription to api.

such an epic release, love the image support. but it sucks web search functionality is only supported with API keys and not chatgpt logins. when will chatgpt paid users get web search?
