I'm picturing a kid in '94 who has never even dreamed of these types of moves being done at this pace and he's watching this match like it's Jupiter and Beyond the Infinite from 2001: A Space Odyssey

That German suplex was a thing of beauty

God I forgot how good Owen's theme was. There's literally two seconds of it in this video, haven't heard it in 10+ years and was instantly humming along in my head

the good stuff

And now I find out that Xpac and Owen did a call back to this match when they faced each other at the 1998 King Of The Ring. The Dropkick through middle rope.

Imagine being a WWE Guy in 2026 and seeing 15 minute walks to the ring and 3-minute matches with a lazy spear for the win

this fucking rules

Real fucking wrestling. Not this bs we have today.

This is crazy now let alone in 94 … Owen wrestled in Japan & Mexico so he had that foundation. Sean was trained by a Malenko and was in Japan as well when Eddie, Liger & Benoit was there. They def wanted to have a NJPW style match on American tv. You can see it play out

Owen takes the turnbuckle just like big bro 🥲

They gave them less than four minutes and they decided to go at break neck speed for every second of it. This is up there with Rey-Angle as one of my favorite sub 5-minute matches.

Owen was so ahead of his time just look at those Germans.

This my first time seeing Owen hart wrestle, he’s fire. Any more match recommendations?

Forgot Owen was moving like that

@NotDrDeath You don't know how mad it made me as a kid discovering wrestling in 1995 that some MFer rented KOTR 1994 from my local video store and never returned it. And then I get on the internet and Scott Keith says it's a must see. Took me until 2001 to see this match!

You could tell Savage was impressed with this match and deep down wanted to perform badly. Savage & Owen was one of my hopes for 1994 as a kid and never got it on tv unfortunately. ☹️

The 1993 and 1994 KOTRs were excellent. Of course, I got tix to the 1995 KOTR at The Spectrum which was one of the worst wrestling shows I ever attended in my life.

That match needs to be studied it wasn’t long but every spot was on points

Imagine being a WWE guy in 2026 and wondering what went wrong

I need to stop procrastinating and watch the Bret Owen 94 duology

@Neo_ChaosX Back when wrestlers actually wrestled

Owen Hart was very underrated and played an amazing heal. I hated him. Tragic loss

Owen Hart slander on the anniversary of his death????

??? reread what I said

@TankOcean_ You called it shit

@TankOcean_ yeah baby and this shit was hot

There was a saying back then if you can’t have a good match with Kid you won’t last in the WWF. He was definitely the workhorse of the WWF back then.

I don’t think anyone was only watching WWF back in the day.

Literally my favorite wrestlers at the time. I was 3 years old and I was jumping up and down like a maniac when I first saw this.

Owen Hart at the very least not being in the WON Hall of Fame is wild.

This was the best 5 min match of all time man! I remember this! Was 12…43 now lol

and then knowing they were gonna push Lex Luger Sid and King Mabel over these guys

@fraxination Owen was so fucking tuff bro

owen was so fucking good

This is amazing. Bret and Owen had an all timer at Mania in 94. Bret and 123 Kid had an all timer on Raw in July 94 (WWE recognized as Raw's 2nd greatest match to this day) and this with Owen and 123 Kid also in 94 completely off the radar and so good 😊

Give that man two Slammies!!

Owen totally wanted to show off. This is the stuff they’d do in Japan

Owen beat all my faves this night and I HATED HIM for it. Also it was in Baltimore so this sticks with me lol

Savage sounded good on commentary
