For years i've had this vision for a synchronous reactive ORM with offline support and realtime syncing to other clients. This is the holy grail of state management IMO and i'm finally building it using mobx and yjs. I know that's a mouthful so let me explain: synchronous - there's no promises to deal with and therefore no loading states which leads to much cleaner frontend code. reactive - imagine signals/observables that you can mutate and they will trigger your components to rerender and also will immediately propagate to other users' devices. ORM - what i've made is not an ORM, but it looks and feels like one where you define Models and then you interact with instances of those models. offline/syncing - this is done through yjs, a CRDT implementation, and websockets. CRDTs power many modern collaborative multiplayer tools like figma.

Despite being told no, I'm open-sourcing Chatpack. You can now deploy production-ready chat to any app with 30+ native chat features in a single command using npx chatpack@latest I wanted to build a simple chat layer where anyone could add 24/7 live messaging to their app without spending weeks rebuilding the same infrastructure from scratch. Connect your existing auth and database, and Chatpack handles everything underneath. AI in robotics gets all the attention right now, but sometimes the most interesting work is very practical. Viet built a small vision system that counts potatoes on a conveyor belt. No giant dataset. No huge model. Just a clear problem and a smart setup. He used Ultralytics’ ObjectCounter, trained a tiny YOLO11 nano model, and because there was no potato dataset, he annotated a single frame with SAM 2 and trained from that. One frame. Still works across the whole video. It is a good reminder that useful AI in industry often looks like this. Focused. Lightweight. Solves a real task. Ever since you’ve moved into this neighborhood, the neighbor across the street seems to have a real issue with you. This winter every time you shovel your driveway, you come back later and you hear mountains of snow everywhere. You check your camera and you see that she intentionally pushes her snow across the street and dumps it into your yard and driveway. Not sure what the problem is nor do you really want to find out, would you let this slide or is it time to return the favor with your new snowblower?
