sorry but this incorrect. the price of those taylor swift tickets is $1088 bc that's the market-driven price. simple supply and demand. NFTs help prevent reselling fake tickets or reselling legit tickets multiple times, but that's *not* the problem. The problem is allowing reselling at all! the only way taylor swift can keep her tickets at that low price of $450, is if she did a raffle and made the tickets non-transferable. otherwise, she should be doing an auction, which would still lead the tickets to costing $1088 *but* at least she would be keeping the profit instead of the damn middlemen. this is why we experiment with the @EFDevcon raffle-auction: Distributing scarce resources in a provably fair and efficient manner. otherwise she could try some cool in-between mechanism like this by @stephensonhmatt and co: anyway, NFTs and digital verifiable property rights are cool for many reasons. but enough with the misinformation that they magically solve badly-priced resources sold through a poorly-chosen distribution mechanism, please.
