It’s a cool video and a great performance but Gilmour played the entire show. It was later released on Deep End Live. The full show was released as Live At Brixton Academy 85 and again as part of the Pete Townshend Live box set

Great performance, listened to it on VHS when it came out in the 80s. Also check out Simon Phillips highly interesting session about his contribution to Give blood:

Pete Townshend de The Who y David Gilmour de Pink Floyd unieron fuerzas en el escenario para interpretar 'Give Blood'. Este es uno de esos espectáculos que recargan el alma. 🎸✨ Dato Curioso: Este dúo es un momento único e histórico, una colaboración que sucede "una vez en la vida" entre dos leyendas del rock. #PeteTownshend #DavidGilmour #GiveBlood

Got this on Record Store Day a couple of years ago. It’s got this performance on it. Awesome stuff!

Awesome. When was this? Early 1980s?

Couldn't find the date info, sorry about that.

1985 release. Probably 1985 or 1986. Story of the tune is great. Pete didn’t even play on the recording. Gilmour, Pallidino and Simon Phillips….Pete’s “favorite musicians”. Love the tune.

@rocknrollofall “November 1-2, 1985,” according to Grok. “Save It for Later” is another great song on the Deep End Live! album:

@rocknrollofall Awesome tune!

This is one of the best live rock performances on the Internet.

The drummers earned their pay on this one! I always forget Pete was still cranking out good music after The Who hung it up in 1982. This was from '85. I also remember hearing some of his solo stuff on Miami Vice around this time!

Simon Phillips, David Sanborn, Pete playing acoustic, 1989

This is just sick!!🤘🤘🔥🔥🔥🔥💯 I'll never forget seeing this the 1st time!🤘🔥🔥💙🙏😎🎸🥁🥁

And certainly, one of the top live drumming performances on the Internet

November 1-2, 1985. Brixton Academy. I was at both shows. Epic. 🤘🏻🤯

@Mikehomeseller The gentleman actually played on each other’s solo albums in the early ‘80’s . Pete Townshend’s “White City” and David Gilmour’s “About Face”

The whole Bands on fire. That Rhythm Section🥳

This is from the few years where Gilmour was playing on many people's albums, waiting around to see if Roger really left or not. He played on a lot of stuff : McCartney, Bryan Ferry, Arcadia, Townshend, Supertramp, Dream Academy , etc.

@JoeMontana jersey is next level.

Incredible!

Secret Policeman’s Ball ?

Nice

Epic!

🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

So wonderful to see and hear these two amazing musicians playing this Townshend tune from his White City album. This album along with Empty Glass and All the Best Cowboys Have Chinese Eyes contain insanely great music recorded in the early- to mid-80s.

Pete Townsend is a little boy fiddler, he was arrested in Britain for having child porn F k that pedo

Give love And keep blood between brothers.

❤️

W O W! Pete and Gilmore on 🔥

Deep End ate my brain. This phase was so hot!
