How wonderful that is, it took more than the room being turned it also took extraordinary skill by the dancer. All the furniture and fixtures were nailed down, and the camera was fixed in place. As the room rotated, Fred Astaire danced upright, creating the illusion that he was walking and dancing on the walls and ceiling. The camera and the room rotated together, giving the appearance that Astaire was defying gravity.
