So if one wishes to visit the Grand Cathedral of Bureaucracy, visit EU headquarters in Brussels I do think that Europe probably needs government efficiency more than the US does. And this needs to happen at the country level and at the EU level. And actually, I think the job is more difficult in Europe than it is in the US I think over-regulation has inhibited a tremendous amount of progress and innovation in Europe. Slow strangulation by over-regulation It's a slow strangulation because it's not like at any one moment you feel like this is it. But the noose around the neck just gets a little tighter every year, and eventually it's going to kill Europe So there must be, in my opinion, immediate action to reduce regulation at the EU level, at the country level, and at the local level

Today, during the visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Türkiye to Ukraine we discussed diplomacy, all the real opportunities that exist and those that must be created. I also had a good meeting with U.S. Senators Graham and Blumenthal. I thank them for their support of Ukraine, their support for diplomacy, and their efforts to bring moral clarity to the situation. It was Russia that started this war. It is Russia that must stop the killings and the destruction of lives. It is very important that this is voiced in the media, in Congress, and in all the world’s influential offices. If Russia continues to speak in the language of ultimatums, if it tries to blackmail the world with the continuation of war, it must receive a strong response — a response from the United States, from Europe, and from everyone around the world who wants peace and who has declared their support for a ceasefire and for diplomacy.

Xi Jinping is putting on a clinic: “The whole world is watching our meeting. The International situation is turbulent. The world is at a new crossroads: Can China and the US overcome the Thucydides Trap and create a new paradigm to meet global challenges together.” The Thucydides Trap is the structural tension that occurs when a rapidly rising power (China) threatens to displace an established ruling power that is in decline (US). By mentioning the Thucydides trap, Xi Jinping is signaling that China is the new leader of the free world and what’s remarkable is, unlike the U.S., China achieved this without dropping bombs, waging endless wars, or spending $1 trillion a year on its military. Instead China became the leader of the free world by investing in its people with housing, education, health care, and the best modern infrastructure in the world, and investing in its neighbor countries through its Belt and Road Initiative, which has funded ports, railways, and energy networks across the Global South. The US became a “superpower” through endless wars, corruption, and selling out its own people to the billionaire class while China became a superpower and surpassed the US by building trade and relations with the world and investing in its people instead of wars. Americans would be wise to take note and then change our corrupt government.
