NYSC is trending because Nigerians are calling on FG to scrap it for real this time. In Kano, NYSC refused to register corp members. After a while, they received "order from above" to only allow pregnant women and breastfeeding mothers in. Then, they asked the rest go to back home. After travelling for miles. In Kebbi state, corpers were asked to go back home, because the portal is locked and registration is impossible until further notice. In Benue state, NYSC refused to attend to corp members for three days. Leaving them stranded. In Niger state, PCM were originally meant to go with Batch C. But they received call up letters recently, inviting them to camp with Stream II Batch B. On their arrival, NYSC told them to go back home, because they've been moved back to Stream I Batch C, due for camp around October/November. PUBLIC LETTER: NYSC MUST APOLOGIZE FOR THREATENING A DEPRESSED CORPS MEMBER. The recent actions of the NYSC Lagos Secretariat in allegedly threatening a female corps member for expressing her frustration over the rising cost of living are deeply disturbing. This young woman, overwhelmed by inflation, rent hikes, and the daily struggle to survive, was reduced to tears. Instead of offering support, the NYSC, an institution responsible for the welfare of corps members, chose to intimidate her into silence. Her only “offense” was calling the President terrible at his job. This is a democracy, not a dictatorship. The President is not above criticism, and no government institution has the right to bully a citizen for expressing their views. A corps member crying out due to economic hardship should receive reassurance, not threats. Depression is real, and dismissing her distress while trying to suppress her voice is both heartless and undemocratic. NYSC must call its Lagos Secretariat to order and issue a formal apology to this corps member. It must also reaffirm its commitment to the well-being of those serving Nigeria, rather than acting as a tool of oppression. The right to free speech is nonnegotiable, and any attempt to stifle it is a disgrace to the values Nigeria claims to uphold.

I have been calling on Texas DSHS to not renew the camp license for the operators of Camp Mystic for this season until all investigations are complete later this year. Today, House and Senate investigators, after interviewing nearly 140 witnesses, laid out the specific timeline of July 3 and July 4, 2025. In your own words, “Some of the PharmD doctors have not been paid, the last batch, some of their allowances have not been paid, it wasn’t their salaries”. This is you insinuating that our salaries have been paid, it’s just left with allowances which is FALSE. 2. For your information, the last batch you referred to is Rx’22, the batch I’m a part of, the batch owed one full year salary (allowances). 3. Let me state emphatically that no one from the ‘last batch’ you referred to has been paid any form of salaries (allowances). The government does not even have our bank account numbers. In fact, we still do not have any form of clearance. 4. So you LIED about that. 5. I can see that, until today, you clearly did not know that for the PharmD house officer, the salary is the same as the allowances. We do not receive allowances separately from salaries.
