Improv?????

It’s West Coast Swing competitions where partners are randomly picked are called Jack & Jill competitions. This format is a staple at most WCS events designed to test a dancer's ability to improvise, adapt to different partners, & dance to music chosen spontaneously by the DJ.

Every time this pops up in my feed, I have to watch it a few times. They're both just so talented. And they're so cute together. From what everyone says, they are randomly drawn to dance together, but they look like a cute married couple who just knows each other's moves so well.

It’s “improv” in the sense that they’re coming up with this on the fly but those dancers are, in all likelihood, extraordinarily familiar with each others style and cues which makes it a lot easier to read each others intentions to the beat.

I always stop and watch this when it pops up but it’s better at normal speed
