Horatius just casually befriending one of my favourite creators is mind blowing ngl

@Akaking_ako dwarvish wisdom

I was once told, "You don't know what you're doing, until you fuck up and have to fix it."

I know ya prolly won't see this. But thank ya. This is a mindset I need to start using so I can actually learn at art. I bind myself up too early before the thing is even started and I hope this'll help me pull through and actually get to improving

Very wise and amazing advice for sure!

Will there be a stream tomorrow morning? Or is it delayed due to holiday?

We will be live tomorrrow

INCREDIBLE message. This got me in ways you don't understand. Thank you for sharing your story, and can't wait to make a bunch of questions on tomorrow's stream :3

Your father was a very wise man, Hora. I needed to hear this particular piece of advice today. Thank you for sharing!

woahhhh

Damn. Needed that, ngl. It’s hard to remind myself of this sort of thing in the moment. Been actively working on “trial and error” and being okay with finishing projects that aren’t perfect. Shits hard maaaaan.

YES SO MUCH YES!!!! THANK YOU!

Well that's deeper than I expected.

I tell my friend a similar advice both him and I are beginner fantasy writer I’ve gotten drafts done for my own work while he remains in the worldbuilding phase. I told him “if you don’t stop worldbuilding your story may never start”

Wise fella! Also you can be more free to practice and test on a piece that will not ship

Can vouch for it with other mediums especially sketching and drawing Crab Claws for hands for so many years or miniatures painting and the eyes coming out looking like Mr Bill's from Ernest movies. XD

……..

The only thing I disagree with is the waste of resources. But as long as it is a plentiful resources, it makes sense to refine your craft with it so you're prepared with something more restrictive. But I still hate being wasteful, since we can't replenish what we have.

Damn good point

OOf I feel called out. Spent years making and remaking the beginning of a webtoons comic. Never got past the first chapter because I'd always learn something see a mistake go back and redo the whole thing.

Why do I feel so called out what the hell

I've never heard of it put this way before. I enjoy the perspective, it gives me more insight on how to proceed with my own projects.

Never knew you actually did some real smithing work, that’s awesome!

It's a good lesson and a story worth telling. Downside is that very few people get to work or develop a trade skill or have a mentor to take them through the entire process of the workflow to practice.

I'mma replay this for myself for a bit so it sticks in my head!!! Cause i can see it in 2 areas for me. my content and gunpla building. while my content stuff i still need to push to start and FINISH stuff! i can see through all my gunpla how my skills have sharpened over time

Well damn

Hora you fuckin rule man

That's a great freaking story! Your father sounds like a brilliant individual!
