This is going to kill a lot of restaurants and bars in hotels too because the crazy $30 wage thing applies to restaurant workers in hotels too.. this is why 25 degrees closed down in the Roosevelt Hotel Or instead of places one can get something relatively affordable like a nice burger it’s going to be more upscale $100 + a meal places most people can’t afford Socialist policies have consequences..

I am officially wrapping up an entire year of seeing shows, dining in the best and worst restaurants, staying in the dirtiest and cleanest hotels in Las Vegas. Here are my recommendations for your 2025 travel itinerary. While everyone looks to get the most “bang for their buck” on a budget vacation stay, sometimes cheapest isn’t best. Much of Vegas is “you get what you pay for”. Here are 3 hotels to skip in the new year. In no particulsr order, I would avoid the allegedly newly renovated Rio, OYO and everyone’s favorite creepy clown motel Circus, Circus. Most “beautiful hotel” lists start to feel the same after a while. Same infinity pools and beach villas. The same famous names you’ve already seen a hundred times. But the hotels I remember are usually different. They’re the ones with a story behind them. A castle in Ireland where the rain and old stone feel like part of the stay. A desert resort in the Empty Quarter that looks like it rose out of the sand. A palace in Udaipur where you arrive by boat across the lake. A former military fortress in Mallorca turned into one of the most quietly beautiful hotels in the Mediterranean. And then there’s Giraffe Manor in Nairobi. It sounds made up until you see it. An old ivy-covered manor from the 1930s, set in green gardens, where giraffes wander up to the windows during breakfast. That could easily feel like a gimmick, but it doesn’t. Part of what makes it special is that the property is tied to conservation work for endangered Rothschild giraffes. So the magic of the place has some purpose behind it. That’s the kind of hotel I highlight in this series. Not just places with nice rooms. Places with a setting. Places with history. Places that make you stop and think, “How did I not know this existed?” I’m writing a five-part series for The Timeless Traveler on 50 of the most beautiful hotels in the world you’ve probably never heard of.
