“Improving indoor air quality in schools is not a secondary concern. It’s a fundamental responsibility. A matter of safeguarding the next generation.” Inspirational speech from Prof Jakšić-Stojanović (Minister of Education, Science & Innovation, Montenegro) at the UN yesterday.

Currently long term symptoms of covid have now surpassed asthma as the most chronic condition in American school kids...yet Montenegro is lapping us in taking care of them. If kids are a national priority, we should start acting like it. This is a fantastic initiative.

The event also included the launch the GLOBAL PLEDGE FOR HEALTHY INDOOR AIR which states: “We declare, for the first time as a global community, that clean indoor air is a fundamental human right for protecting health & safeguarding well-being.”

COVID level air cleaning would reduce colds and flu as well. The increase in worker productivity and school attendance should make it ann easy decision.

Spot on. What's interesting about the scope of the @covidinquiryuk 'Children & Young People' hearing starting Monday is that children's safety ie quality of indoor air isn't even in scope! A public inquiry on the biggest healthcare disaster for a century & it's classified as an 'impact' only hearing. The thing is we know the impact but we want to know why @WelshGovernment didn't prepare for & didn't respond appropriately to an airborne virus. Why no respirators? No HEPAs & proper ventilation? Why they are didn't protect our young people or recognise the impact of Long Covid? Sadly we can't ask as we're not in this module.

Can we appoint you as BC, Canada's CPHO? Our current CPHO (Dr. #fireBonnie Henry) isn't at all interested in #IAQ for #BCed schools. In fact, She still says the best mitigation is hand-washing.

@66Hula99 It must happen in Australia. We are harming our children not just regarding Covid but many other viruses that are airborne as well. We know our youngsters are getting ill more frequently than in past years

In Japan, children aged 7 to 18 are required to clean the toilets at school. Without receiving any guidance on the faecal-oral transmission of COVID-19 or being provided with protective equipment against infectious diseases, the pupils take turns cleaning the toilets every day.

It is less than secondary. What do you want to do AGAINST climate change, not how you want to invest in ACs. When and where the WWIII will take place, how many people will die and what are the effects of that on the survivors?
