In 1977, the BBC made a fly on the wall documentary about Faraday School in East Acton which opened in 1966. It was a rather moving portrayal of the children and their teachers. Anyone remember their time at the school?

The best high school I ever attended; I was there until it closed. The teachers were great, despite the negative portrayal by Panorama.

Grew up in acton at the time, many mates went to faraday. When this documentary was made they all said it was a total stitch up. Told to kick lockers in & break windows in front of camera. bbc panorama??

My brother was there in 1975 and hated it so much that my parents yanked him out and sent him private.

I was there at the time, the school never recovered from the scandal and closed a few years later.

I remember as a kid in the 70/80s, I was afraid to go near the school. I recently met somebody who was there - apparently the kids would line up in the playground - white kids on one side, black kids on the other and they would just charge at each other in a medieval style melee.

I went there, 72 - 77. Hate to be negative but it was mainly an awful experience. Lots of bullying and little direction. Happiest days? Not for me. I’ve got a DVD of the program and I think it’s on YouTube.
